I too was thinking of the plants😢 $$ is the focus here. When I cut back my grape vine, I plant a few sticks then when they have leaves I give them away ( I live in the city in Western Australia ) I’m going to see if I can grow my dragon fruit against back fence then make trellis for them to hang over. 👍😁

When it’s time it’s time. Those air roots were getting pretty gnarly. And on the plus side, hundreds of fresh cuts to restart with!

1 cutting in my country costs US 22.50. He could make so much from these mature trees

Depends on where he is. In my country, 30 cm cutting could cost as low as 50 cents each

I found a wild dragon fruit and took cuttings. I was doubtful because the tree was brown at the base. I have them growing to see what would happen. Now I'm sure that it's because the tree is really old. Thank you so so much for this. Best channel for dragon fruit. Thank You!

I didnt know they grow so old, I thought they would grow about 5 years and die. I have 3 growing in pots now. Just wanted fresh tasting dragon fruit, not a lifetime commitment hahah

Were these originally damaged in the bush fire? The concrete posts are a good idea. Many of the vines look like they have some sort of fungal damage or maybe cactoblastus insect damage. Is the new variety more resistant to disease and insect damage?
@FerryMan
@FerryMan 2 года назад
This garden is not a fire, the fire garden is 300 meters away. not really, the growth is almost the same if you take care of it properly

How do you make those poles and how tall? I have some cuttings I want to plant in pots but I like your methods. Thanks
@tekitisy
@tekitisy Год назад
Concrete posts that you can buy or make in limited quantities but large commercial quantities are not economical in US. 6 - 7 ft woud be good, 2 - 2.5 ft under the ground and 4 - 5 ft above the ground. There is a better way to trellis these than the round top method

Not sure but if I were to guess it's cause red and white dragon fruit in Vietnam are worth almost nothing this year. Massive surplus of supply and closed borders to china. Lots of cities around where I lived had semis parked on the road selling fancy boxes ment for china for lunar new years for cheap. Also videos in Vietnam of people dumping their crops cause they are worth nothing. So my guess again is he did this to get the yellow variety which should make him more money as it is not common in Vietnam as of yet

Can You use grafting on the polls? may be it will grow and produce fruits faster
@TheEddagosp
@TheEddagosp 2 года назад
You can graft Dragon fruit, but it seems like the trunks were the parts that were damaged. Since Dragon fruit grow fairly quickly and root easily, they probably didn't want to bother about grafts maybe failing. Cool thing about cacti is that if it starts dying from the bottom up, you can just chop off the top and plant *that* to start over.

We produce a liquid 100% organic solution that prevents over 95% of all horticultural crops' flowers and raw fruit drop. In addition, the quality and quantity of the fruits also increases.
