I think there is a decent argument to be made that if you want to play a specific starting vocation it is actually better to start as a different vocation. Then kill the 6 goblins in the beginning of the game, rest at the first outpost, then retalk to the inn keeper and he will now allow you to switch your vocation for 100 VP, which is roughly what you get for killing the 6 goblins. The benefits for doing this is that you trade 100VP for about 2-3k worth of equipment because vocation changes automatically give you a full starting set of weapons and armor. 3k bonus gold can be very helpful in the early game for getting you a decent ring or armor/weapon upgrade.
Another TIP! Each area on the map will have different Enhancement Buffs when enchanting weapons and armor. You can tell which enchantments you have by looking at the symbols in the squares when you are looking at a weapon or armor piece in your inventory or win at the enchanting menu. You can mix and match. But I don’t recommend doing that unless it’s on a early weapon or a weapon. You don’t plan on keeping. because mixing them up, you won’t get the most out of the weapon Vermund territory is a well rounded enchantment, it will enchant strength, the defense in magic, all pretty equally, but not as much as choosing a specific type ( str def mag/ mag def) Bahttali territory will upgrade, strength and defense but not so much magic. Elvin well upgrade magic/ magic def but not so much strength and defense Dwarven with upgrade strength, little def not so much magic or magic defense, but it greatly increases your knockdown power. So where you go to upgrade items all depends on your vocation and items being used. Be careful when choosing where to enhance because you cannot undo an enhancement once you do it. So if you enhance in bahttal twice but wanted more of a magic buff and now you want to go to the Elvin smith you’re only gonna be able to enhance that item one time with the Elvin Smith!
I'm so happy to be playing a new Dragons Dogma! Thankfully my PC can handle it 😅 P.S. you don't have to buy the micro transactions.. yes I hate them too but at least they cheap and not needed
@@sirdanik1 Those marks indicate a point of interest your pawns have pointed out. For example, the one in the encampment is indicating the chest under the tower, but its bugged to not vanish afterwards.
So, it sounds like chest icons on the map stay in place even after the chest has been opened correct? If so, does it appear as a different shade of white to indicate it's been found? Also, does anyone know if the 'point of interest' exclamation points stay visible after the... interesting thing has been discovered/collected?
@@omensoffateyou have to rent the pawns from other people. Last game you could set your price. What I did was befriend all the people who had high pawns till someone accepted and then you’ll get it for free. I’m not sure that’s how this game works but I think it might
@@PaNDaSNiP3R You can't "set your price" A price is determined by pawn's levels. Get to their lvl and they are free, or friend them, a price is not set by the player.
Thanks. (1) Re pawns, you can do an advanced search in the rift menu to find pawns with specific skills, etc. that you want. (2) Camping gear is reusable, unless it gets destroyed in an attack whilst you're camping. (3) Vendors who enhance gear will enhance different attributes. For example, Vermundian armours will enhance different attributes to Elven armourers. (4) In the menu, the ring rotating counter-clockwise around the map represents the time. With the 12 o'clock position being the current time of day.
It took me like 25 hours to realize I wasn't using up my camping gear, LOL. SO many camps I ignored, because I didn't want to 'waste' my camping gear. At one point, all in my party was down to minimum max health, because I was trying to work my way back to an inn. My god, I made the first 20+ hours of the game so hard for myself! Thanks for the tip on gear enhancing, I didn't know it enhanced differently based on NPC!
@@inso3988Finally character customization that I have always wanted. I didn't take that long but the options were really good. I am just bad at charactet creation.
Thank you for your work ! Always great to check your guides and playthrough, it helps a lot ! From demon's souls to Elden Ring, Bloodborne, Sekiro, DD Dark Arisen and now DD2, Lies of P, god of war, recently helldivers 2, just great to know that your content will be there ! Keep the excellent work !
Seeing as this dropped exactly the same time as the game released it isn't hard to see Cowboy wasn't allowed to drop it before. Other youtubers also had their videos dropping right at release time. If that's not the case, yea it should've dropped before release lol
Cyberpunk's vibes. Negative reviews on steam.... Don't believe the hype, people never learn. I'm glad I saved my money, I'll bring my chick to a nice restaurant, at least I know I won't be disapointed.
Why are you promoting a Crap game, is Capcom paying you guys? There are a lot of really honest reviews out there, and while your video isn't a review it promotes what is wrong in the gaming industry.
Why do you assume he would have the same taste or opinion that you do? You think it's more likely that most of the biggest game reviewers are all part of a Capcom conspiracy or that maybe you just have a different opinion, taste and idea regarding ethics?
I hired a very talkative pawn, later I found a chest and she was like "oh, wow, i need to tell my master about this chest in my real world", im like can someone hire my pawn and show it chests and other cool stuff?!
@@EverythingWasGreat when you rest at an Inn, your pawn will go to the rift and be hired, when you come back or wake up your pawn will tell you about his or her adventures with other Arisens.
Use the advanced pawn search in the rift if you're looking for a specific type of pawn. It has all sorts of filters like class and level, etc... It will get rid of all the pawns that don't match and bring in only pawns matching your filters.
I want to make a pawn that ppl will use. Should I make my personal pawn a healer or do damage? It doesn’t matter to me I just want to help ppl and have my pawn be awesome!
The majority of people will be wanting mages for their ability to not only heal you, but also cure debilitations and grant elemental boons. A mage with a personality geared towards aiding and the specialization to even be able to use curatives on party members will be ideal.
Switching the bumpers doesnt make much sense for archers IMo, because youd be firing arrows with left bumper which ive never experienced in any other game.
Use advanced pawn search you can search for the exact vocation / lv range / weapon / skills. Race/ sex/ inclination ...everything and see only pawns matching all criteria . Don't waste time scrolling through the pawns in rift section
Keep in mind if you find a unique weapon WHERE you enhance it matters. So if you find best in slot Mage gear enhance it at the elf smithy. Sometimes struggling a little to get to that Desert land smith is optimizing the Strength upgrade on your weapon.
Kinda stupid to have to play other vocations and level them up to get augments that are useful for your class (although cool, it's a waste of time), also not being able to change vocation on the fly, just in the shop is a bit letdown - I much prefer Skyrim learn by doing system, instead of choosing classes and have limitations changing them according to the situation.
Anyone playing on Xbox notice there’s a bug where you cannot use your heals . It says USE but it won’t let you drink the consumable. Hate that the game doesn’t give you a quick inventory with going into the menu to heal . Super annoying!
Been using your Official Pawn on the steam version and its been helping me out a ton, wish you had quest assistance on it tho cuz im so lost running around in this ginormous map lol
Can’t wait to play this hope it gets delivered tomorrow! Iam on the final boss on elden ring been playing it off and on for the last two years need different challenge😂
open world action rpgs are my favorite so i cant wait to play this. my only worry is some people say its lacking in content and pretty quick to beat the game
Cowboy!! 🤠 salute to you brother for your dedication! I’m on vacation and watching this to prepare me for when I get home and start my play through you the man
lol, the FIRST ox cart I took (the starter quest that tells you to take a cart to Melve), I wanted to watch the ride since it was new. I got barely a few hundred feet from the first city, already had 2 fights, and then a griffon attacked - chased it off barely with my lvl 6 or so ass, and just up the road 5 minutes later, an ogre/werewolf thing attacked, jumping onto the cart destroying it. So...I ended up walking the entire way to Melve and forgot about ox carts lmao.
DLSS does nothing for areas where youre CPU limited. Which is the main issue with the framerate. My gpu is just sitting at 50% in cities while my framerate tanks to the 40s. My cpu is not potato either.
Question regarding the gear section! Did they go all Witcher 3 with the random gear chests in the world? Or are the items fixed in each chest? Looking forward to an overpowered early guide
I don't know Cowboy, it's September 2024 and just started on PC. I set up my controller to play close to FromSoftware. Ie light and strong attack with right bumper and trigger, and my left trigger as my special attack initiate.
In a way, this feels a lot like one with a face lift. Also some extra features which honestly im happy about it because i just started playing one again last week in anticipation for this.
Fighter feels pretty awful early on. Sure, it has a shield and is more "beginner friendly" but the sheer lack of damage is infuriating. Stabbing a cyclops in the head and doing like 1mm of damage to the bar. You get new armor and your stamina just runs out so fast and you're slow. Yeah, not feeling it at all. Just pushing to get mystic spear at this point. Also, dying sucks in this game. I get that it's a somewhat unique feature, but losing max health each time you die is madening when combined with the moronic, MORONIC autosave in this game. I've lost 1 or 2 hours progress because the autosave saved me inches from a fight I can't win. So I die, reload, instantly in the fight again, die, reload, less health, instantly in the fight again. And you can't turn autosave off. Like...what is this absolute idiocy? Who programmed this and thought it was a good idea? And you only have basically 1 save file? COME. ON. It's 2024. The devs have said they're "Looking in to" adding more than 1 save. How frigging hard can it be?
The only thing I don’t like so far is I made a Latina baddie ( she is like 175 tall ) and unfortunately she stays in HEAVY status. I guess I just gotta collect more of the weight boost bugs or maybe just readjust her appearance, it’s just funny coming from bg3 where I can hold so much stuff on each character.
I’ll be honest here, I didn’t agree with Cowboy about his reviews on DD2 and Rise of the Ronin. I thought Rise was great and I was disappointed in DD2 but I have to say I was wrong. DD2 is also phenomenal.
Why would he do that? He played the game on his pc and gave his review. Of course if he played it on a console and it played like shit he would have a different experience. He bought a super computer for this very reason.
I was about to say the same. Been playing Elden Rng since Christmas, and recently started taking Block and Parry more seriously. Definitely going to switch it up.
Nitpick... why oh why are the swords so heavy!? A for one hand use wighs like 1kg or 2.1Ibs for you barbarians, or at most 1.1 to 1.2 kgs. A frikkin' Zweihander weighs like 3.5kgs, barely, or some such. The most fantasy elements of fantasy games is how heavy weapons are, not even fireballs are as fantastical. 🤣
That’s not too far off what they historically weighed, though? I can see them weighing more if they don’t have well developed material science / metallurgy(medieval setting), so need to make the blades thicker so they don’t snap or chip so easily when subjected to parrying/blocks and such
@@mduckernz Modern steel is of course superior, but even 1200 years ago there were some impressive steel swords. Just have a look at the Ulfberht swords. And those were pre-medieval... and weighed around 1.2kgs. Proper medieval swords were of an even better quality, some even approaching modern spring steel alloys. Of course there were also cheaper stuff around of worse quality... but generally swords and other weapons weighed as much then as modern reproductions do now.
@@mduckernz Of course there's alot of other things games often get wrong... like Longswords being onehanded and smaller than Bastard Swords. Longswords are meant for twohanded use, can be used onehanded of course. Bastard Swords, or "hand and a half" swords, were slightly smaller and more balanced for one handed use but could be wielded with two hands just as well but more often paired with a shield. A proper onehanded sword, commonly called an arming sword was always used with a shield and does not have room for two hands.
I'm guessing it's a gameplay balance thing to match a fighter carrying a sword and shield. Also, they swing the sword around like it weighs a ton anyways.
Couldnt get into the original. I dont know why. But 2 i cant stop playing. Made a few mistakes along the way but once it clicks you cant stop playing. And i havent even started the main story.
Cowboy could you do a segment explaining pawns, and what not to do when they’re near you because I find that I run to a chest and they run right off the cliff I have had more pawns die to fall falling off, bridges and and other infuriating things then in a fight. It has to be a way you play to insure they don’t act stupid and need me to revive them every ten seconds
Love your videos. Can you change your pawns inclination once you choose it? I choose a Mage and their inclination to be straightforward. Will this ruin the experience?
hope to see walkthrough and everything pointed out in Livestream Series plus for online and offline especial offline play as here were we live there is power cuts every 7 hours thank you for reading
Ha on the first tip I did already a few hours in. The Fighters Guard on Right kept throwing me of as well. Though the switch to Lantern and item use took some adjustment
Did I really just draw the short stick with this game because I've spent almost 4 hours in just character creation without being able to get to play, because the game crashes before I'm done with my character. I've been waiting for this game for years and man did it fuck up my day to find out I can't get to enjoy it at least yet.
witth the portcrystals and ferrystones couldn`t you just go to the scrapshop in checkpoint town and duplicate a bunch to have a bunch across the map for fast travel
Also did not know about the logbook detailing Npc likes and I’m 47 hours in. Still can’t get that damn elf to let me learn the language so I’m probably going to hire a pawn with the specialization!!
