Dragon's Dogma 2 is a slightly above-average game, but for some reason, it feels half-baked, incomplete, and missing features. It's a dumbed-down RPG experience, and until more content is added, it's a hard sell. Here are my pros and cons:
✅ Choices and consequences in many quests
✅ Pawns
✅ Decent combat
✅ Weapon and gear upgrade system
✅ Big monster fights
✅ Nice medieval setting and environment
✅ Sphinx encounter
✅ Medusa encounter
✅ Warfarer vocation
✅ Character and pawn editor
✅ Camping system is okay; it adds a bit of challenge to the game
❌ Performance issues - frame drops and stuttering
❌ Stamina drains out of combat (WTF, CAPCOM?)
❌ Lack of enemy variety
❌ Poor writing - the story is uninteresting and feels badly paced and incomplete
❌ Way too easy
❌ Fewer abilities than in the first game
❌ Balance - some vocations are way overpowered
❌ 95% of gear is bought from vendors, including the best-in-slot options
❌ Exploration isn't rewarding enough to justify long walks
❌ Too few armor customization options (too few slots)
❌ Missing Eternal Ferrystone from the first game, making travel tedious at times
❌ Escort missions are just laughable - poor rewards, and you can't even see the destination beforehand
❌ Who approved the lame Trickster vocation, seriously?!
❌ Apart from trying quests differently to see different outcomes, there is zero replayability
❌ Portcrystal locations are reset and not transferred in NG+ - you have to manually place each one again
❌ Overall, it feels incomplete
