Great video! Thx especially form showing the "How". Didn't think that it's so flexible when dry . Could be great for any type of lizard men like the aos seraphon, to build extra shields or tools. Or depict gigantic dragon parts for a Diorama like a dragon tail in a cave, while leaving the remainder up for imagination
Lovely video, what a great idea! I would love to know how you painted both the samalamder terminator and the dwarf - the metallics on the dwarf look perfect to me! Inspiring stuff :)
Thank you! Really happy I was able to help and inspire. For the Salamander I do not have a tutorial unfortanetely, but for the dwarf's metall there is a full step by step via my Patreon and soon via my etsy shop. I remember using the same green colors for the dwarf's dragon skin that I used for the Salamander. Hope this helps! Enjoy!
Danke für die super Idee. Mein Kopf rattert schon, was für andere natürliche Produkte sich für Konvertierungen eignen. // Thank you for this great idea. My head is already working on, what other natural substances to use for conversions.
I suspect that's it's easier to get it into the shape you want when there is still some moisture left in the Lychee peel. Super glue will activate with water, so that should be fine. I am thinking it is worth drying it after it's on the model. It could prevent the peel from cracking.
What about Dragon-Foreskin? 😅 Roman, i love the video, but the outtakes cracked me up😂 In my personal opinion this could be better with a facecam. Till the next video , Dovakhin, Dovakhin keep on happy painting😂
Thanks! I often take care and do not break things on my miniatures. I think not, but if you want to be on the safe side I recommend moulding the lychhee and recreating it with putty. This can break too though ;D
I wonder if you could rehydrate the dried skin with ISO to mould it to the shape and contours you need without it breaking? Very cool idea non the less
It's struck me how obviously lychee look like dragon skin but never thought about it until now, thanks a lot! A little question since I'm a bit obsessed with Salamanders: where does the right shoulder pad of the terminator model come from?
Thank you! Happy I was able to help and inspire. The full arm with flamer is from a Deathwatch Special Character in Terminator armour. Not sure if it was Deathwatch Kill Team Cassius.
This is a pretty nice idea! Thanks Roman. My only concern as with all natural materials is durability. I would hate it if it breaks off after painted. Did you ran into issues like that? Onbthe other hand the texture is amazing. Now imagine making a few silicone molds, then you can press green stiff into it and make sheets of it!
Do not worry :D started this years ago too, back then with just a tutorial on a blog, just decided that it needs a video ;) ... apologies for telling our little secret :)
@@ROMANLAPPATMINIATUREART Thanks for the replies. Apologies for the double comment. I forgot to delete the one from your previous video. What legs did you use and do you have a link to more pictures of him? I checked your blog and Instagram but could not find any.
This makes me smile, something about fruit substituting for dragons amuses the hell out of me. Got to try it sometime now, on the hunt for lychee. I noticed the kettlebell as well. Us sit down hobbyists got to find some exercise somewhere. 👍
