In another movie, they reference the other version. The only reason that scene was in there is to show that Mr PoPo, et al, come from a place where children have a word they have not heard.

@@I_AM_BAYTOR One would think. I didn't even recognize the scene being read, but just assumed by intuition that was the book being read when I first saw this. But no matter how taken for granted something might be, it'll always fall under somebody's radar.

Draaaaaaama Queeeeeeeen!!!! Just in case you didn't catch on, this takes places before Radditz lands on earth. At this point Goku and Piccolo are both heated rivals, and Piccolo is considered a bit of a villain.

Well, there is no way to reconcile Dead Zone and the Radditz episodes. If this happens before Radditz arrives, then why is Krilin shocked that Gohan exists when Goku shows up at Kame House? If it takes place after, then how are both Goku and Piccolo still alive?

@@robertmauck4975 It takes place before. Gohan still has his tail, Goku doesn't go Super Saiyan or even Kaioken, Goku and Piccolo are still clearly rivals when they are about to fight. The final and most decisive point is Piccolo foreshadows that he's "gonna steal that kid" meaning the Saiyan arc hasn't even started yet.

@@stevenfriedman2902 I agree that it *should* take place before Radditz arrives. However, that still doesn't explain why no one at Kame house knows about Gohan. At a minimum, Krilin shouldn't be shocked when Goku arrives with Gohan, since he met the child here.

Broo this movie was funnier than I remembered 😂 Or maybe it's funnier watching it with Mike 😁🤝 Btw, you probably already noticed but movies are "what if..." scenarios. In this one the plot was "What if Radditz didn't land on Earth that day". Gohan still gets kidnapped, Goku and Piccolo still join forces against a stronger enemy and Gohan hits him really hard 😌 Ps: Garlick Jr was weaker than Radditz tho. He was around 1000 and Radditz was around 1500.

Fun little triva, one of the reasons they made this movie so late was because a couple of the guys of tfs had already made a version of it before forming tfs and it was kinda like a "prototype" for tfs, they released this up-to-dated version in an anniversary i believe

You can watch Kai 2.9 whenever you want. Originally it was supposed to be Kai 3, but they released in on April 1st as an April Fools joke then changed it to 2.9 after a couple of days. Piccolo winning a fight is always so satisfying. He was always my favorite growing up and I love the one liners TeamFourStar gives him.

Technically every strong character in the dragonball verse has the ability to blow themselves up like that, cause it’s really just them turning their qi energy on full blast and overcharging it until the amount exceeds what their body can handle. Vegeta’s sacrifice is another example of it too against Buu

I more considered it like E=MC^2. Basically them converting the entirety of their being into energy. If their bodies are so strong it can hold all that ki that they turn into already extremely powerful blasts then that body would have to be stronger than said ki. So converting that body into energy/ki would be a lot bigger of a blast than even their most powerful of attacks that they could put out and still live afterwards.

I love how they kept pointing out the plot hole of Garlic Jr.'s minions trying to kill Piccolo (and therefore, Kami) *_BEFORE_* using the Dragon Balls. It's like, seriously?! They couldn't put 2 and 2 together beforehand?!?!
