Everyone says "This is better, or Malukah is better" can we for 5 seconds ignore that and just appriciate that the gaming community of skyrim which we all loved actually made it into one of swedens biggest tv channels? This is after all a huge step in excluding gamers as "nerds who doesn't know better". Please, just appriciate their effort, and stop hating.PS: I used to be a hater too, but then I took an arrow in the knee...
Fredrik Petersson I agree, I was very excited when I heard that a choir in Sweden was singing this song. In both videos I have seen, (including this one) the singers have performed extraordinarily.
Not just for nerds and gamers but the mainstream would never let us find joy and appreciation in European folk music even though it stirs our very souls, a beatific masterwork snuck through the censors via vidya
It's not that hard, you literally just have to memorize the sounds. I can easily sing the first half of the song, but i haven't got a clue what it means.
there is a transaltion for the song ... because Bethesda made an alphabet that also translates the words and letters of Dovah they made a imaginary language same as the Klinggon of Star Trek
Before this performance, I think they gave credit to video games for introducing classical music to a new generation. I don't remenber the exact details but it was something along those lines. It's pretty cool that video games are getting more and more recognition, at least in Sweden, But I can't speak for the rest of the world.
Man, Sweden gets to hear epic shit like this at their awards ceremony. Meanwhile in the US there is another shitty performance by Miley Cyrus, Lady GaGa or Little Wayne. The US music scene is so pathetic.

Usage of vulgar or abusive words too often or in general doesn't mean that a person is convincing, really not. About _"Mr. Jeremy Soule, the great!"_ for example, to be more classy and respectful?
+Kevin DC I hope there is an Elder Scrolls 6 but I won't get my hopes up since they made Elder Scrolls Online. From past experience that usually means end of the single player games. :(
Yeah my friend, that is absolute true!! I was like Diablo before Skyrim but when i start to play Skyrim.... Love on first sight. I played Morowind, Oblivion... but Skyrim is best even on low graphic settings (because i have ccrappy PC) and again i can enjoy this game.
To be honest i would say that Witcher 3 is the best game, but Skyrim is better at different things that W3. It all comes down to personal preference, but both games are epic :).
Magnificent performance. Not only for the music, when she sings she really is telling a story at that is really difficult. You can sing well or bad but not so many people can give soul to a song like this.
I totally disagree with you, Do you know any other game composers ? is it just because you loved this one by Jeremy you declared him as God? I know Game composers Since Commodore64 which i believe you werent even born at that time. Jeremy is great but there are better than Jeremy one of them is Paul Anthony Romero. Listen to his music and educate your ear with other better talents.
Ahab Bellamy hey at least in my case you're right I don't know many other composers. But I do know, that even if you compare Jeremy Soule with other big names in this business, he will still be a very talented and succesful composer. Nevertheless I appreciate your calling of Romero and I hope that you can name many other composers, so I can make another step in the direction of perfect music !
I love Skyrim, but after playing and finishing it three times, I'd thought I was over playing it again without a long break... until listening to this beautiful music.
I dont know why everyone is butchering this version. Its incredible. How often you see this type of song in a famous show in the respective country. No i thought so. Sweden never stop to amaze. WOOOOOOW
saw this scrolling through vids thinking there probably not talking about the elder scrolls, but fuck it lets see what dragonborn there thinking of... then i heard the chanting and i was like ( ͡o ͜ʖ ͡o)
TheGadondorf I will find you....and I will put an arrow in your posterior. How does that make you feel? Seriously now... that meme *NEEDS* to stop spreading.
sassydragon it makes sense too skyrim is inspired by a viking way of life. no not horned helmets. in that part of the world were vikings lived up in sweden scandanavia and such they had jarls
I always wondered if Skyrim represents Tamriels version of the nordics/Scandinavia? The story about the empire and the "rebels" is pretty much the story of when Christian people came to Sweden and took our religion away from us just like in Skyrim.
I've heard this song as some another version. Below I write what I feel. 1.as a Fighting song (original Soundtrack) 2.as a requiem (Sabina Zweiacker with Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra) 3.as a bard song (Malukah) 4.as a Dragon's Voice (Tina Guo) and in this video it is sang as a Spiritual Song at the Church in the village during the Mass.
So here are all these serious people delivering a beautiful performance.. While a crazy lady doing a crazy Voodoo dance with her hands and hair in the middle goes unnoticed by anyone!
goosebumps..i dont think bethesda will ever be able to make a game as epic again as skyrim..the settings..the dragonborn legend...all of that made skytim such a unique and epic experience.
Sweden pls....I wish Philippines makes some respect to some game. Here in Ph. they always sing some boring pop music by our national singers and songs of Ariana Grande , Taylor Swift , Jesie J and etc.*sigh* My only dream is:Parents , Elders , National Leaders and etc. understand us gamers and understand why online games needs internet and MMORPG can never be paused.
seriously for "the dragonborn comes" why is that way of singing it so popular? Why can't people sing it like its supposed to b sung and not Malukah's version, and I know it is good but c'mon!
Mr. Soul is Genius for sure. His talent is a blessing of God - I don't know the other way to create so many glorious themes... from Morrowind Main theme, Neverwinter Nights themes... to THIS. Bravo.
I don't know who exactly wrote this one but the guys who were responsible for all of the skyrim songs and music were Jeremy Soule Todd Howard and Mark Lampert
