Skip to 6:21 for my first attempt to play Through the Fire and Flames 😛I firstly met Herman at Musikmesse Frankfurt where he was giving autographs. Never thought there would acually be an opportunity for an interview somewhere in the future. So I am pretty overwhelmed and want to thank SummerBreeze and Oktober Promotion for this amazing experience! And of course many special thanks to Herman for being such an inspriring, humble and funny guy! Thank you so much for all your tipps about guitar picks! I will research more now! 🙈🤣 😋 Follow my band OVERSENSE on instagram for updates! And become a patron if you want to listen to some excepts or if you want to be included in the booklet "thank you" section =D Hope you enjoy! =) For just 1$ per month you can vote for a guitar cover each month out of 4 suggestions I make! Sounds good? =) www.patreon.com/JassyJ Thank you to all my Patrons at Patreon for your lovely support! SPECIAL THANKS GO OUT TO: Maik, Bruno-Pierre, The Sarnia Breakfast Club, Harald, Jonah, Adelyn, Ryan, Matt, Gerrit, Iwan 9, Andreas, Sandon, Arno, Geoff, Micheal H., Michael T. & Mike! You are awesome GUITAR: ♪ Ibanez JEM77P-BFP♪ www.thomann.de/de/ibanez_jem77p_bfp.htm?offid=1&affid=248 NOTE: I used a guitar backingtrack without vocals. All the guitars you hear are played by me. I tried to capture every guitar I heard in this one. TUNING: E Standard
The one thing I can take from this interview, what Herman said, "guitar is about having fun. Not being the fastest. It's not a competition unless you really are in one." I really needed that, Herman. Thanks! 🤘
Many people actually need that mindset =) Get this from one of the masters himself! If you are fine with rhythm guitar, it doesn't make you a bad player just because you don't like guitar solos.
@@JassyPabst I have to admit that this video boosted my motivation/confidence in making videos again. I've been on a hiatus lol. But this really helped me. Thank you very much from that. You earned a sub from me!
@@95ps3lover Yeah amateur bassist here. I notice that EVERY SINGLE BADASS ESTABLISHED SHREDDER (at least 90% of all I look up to) that lol it'd be a definite bitch for me to hold down for on bass, ALWAYS says the best and most humbling motivational insights compared to most armchair quarterback guitar fans. I really wish that we "the mere mortals" would just back each other up more y'know.
He's really down to earth and pretty cool to hang with. I would love to meet him and shake his hand. Of course I don't mind an autograph either lol. Great interview and great guitar playing cheers from Puerto Rico.
This is actually a really awesome interview with lots of unique/non-generic questions which I actually learned a lot from! Herman seems like a really cool guy too.
I met Herman when they supported WASP at Nottingham Rock City, before they became really big. He was standing by the entrance with Sam and I wandered over for a chat. He was such a nice, friendly guy. It's good to see he's not changed.
That pick conversation was great, I've spent at least a year searching for the right gauge! I feel like with only 4 hours of practice you're already great at it! Herman was so humble and fun to listen to
Hi Jassy, tolles Interview!
Hi Jassy, it's been a long time since I came to see your videos because very busy. But it's always a pleasure to see you and listen to play more this time on Dragonforce ... you Rock! Always 🤘🤘🤘
Great interview, I liked the pick talk. Picks are the one thing that changes alot with guitar players. The guitar playing you did on this vid dam JJ it was fast, and clean. That was great. You are proving how great you can play as if everyone did not know already. Hay just wanted to let you know I am looking at getting a JEM jr. I know if not the best if you know of a better mid range ibanez I would like to know or if you think the JEM jr is a good guitar either way.. thanks again for the great vid.
That's really awesome you got to talk to the Herman Lee sis,I love that song sounds so awesome you playing that song sis, always proud of you sis , you're destined to do great things, love u sis
@@JassyPabst I figured! I've only played one once, in a Guitar Center. Even though the strings were way too old and the setup was awful (thanks, Guitar Center), it was the best Ibanez I've ever played. Usually, I'm a 7-string man, but that is one 6-string I'll definitely have to get my hands on.
Very cool interview. It's always nice when musicians interview other musicians because you ask more interesting questions. I remember when you first tried to play TTFATF on stream. I'm impressed by your progress, but I'm almost more impressed that you managed to hold that camera out like that for the whole interview without terrible arm cramp. Mine ached in sympathy just watching. :)
I got to see Dragonforce years ago and it was one of the best performances I’ve ever seen. It’s pretty cool you get to talk with him. Super nice guy. I need to invest in monitor speakers myself. What are you using and what would you want to upgrade to?
I actually don't have monitor speakers... just some really cheap PC speakers for playing video games xD Still need to do proper research. Any recommendations from your side?
@@JassyPabst SVS and Klipsch are two of the most popular monitor speaker brands here in the UK. I have the Klipsch RP-8000F floorstanding speakers, but you can get decent ones for just a few hundred Euros these days. In fact, if you're making music for people to listen, you'll want to make sure it sounds good on cheap speakers as well, since most people listen to music through cheap speakers and headphones.
Ja, sau geil Jassy! Fand' dein Video echt cool! ROCK ON!!! \m/
Of course I shaw give you thumbs up ''u r my biggest ideal guitarist '' ok, so i would like to say as usual u rock and appreciate all that you've been doing for me YOU ARE THE BEST \M/ ROCK ON JAZMINE ^^
One more thing, I'm a drummer who's wanting to try base again cuz I used to have a base. What is a good beginner bass to pick up? And also I was always worried about using hard stuff on guitar strings because I always thought it would ruin the string but it seems like everyone uses heavier stuff on the strings. I'm just learning all sorts of different things trying to learn new instruments you. Thank you all for your help and I really do hope you have a blessed day. Also JJ is so pretty, keep up the amazing work.
How its really funny how he said beginners tend to choose the thin picks but when i was a beginner i used to preffer thicker ones because i felt that the thinner ones were gonna break😂😂
Jassy du bist richtig gut ich mag nicht nur das video ich liebe es und trough the fire and flames ich liebe das lied mein lieblingslied von DRAGONFORCE mach weiter So😍😍😍😍🎸
Herman is right. The fastest player isn't necessarily the best. They didn't call Eric Clapton "Slow hand" for nothing. On the other hand. For as long as I have been following you. You have made accomplishments in your life that are absolutely amazing, I must say.
thank you very much Don! =) haha yes! I always had to deal with some people who are like "well only because she has the numbers, it doesn't mean she's actually a good guitarist" Some people really don't get what matters most: PASSION!
Greetings I have been following you for a good while and I love what you do and what you do, and believe me that the Spanish-speaking community would thank you if some of your content (such as this video) were translated for those who do not yet speak or do not understand English. Humble opinion continues 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Hey there! I know that issue but I don't have anyone who could translate it to Spanish for me :( and also I don't have the time to write subtitles. I still have a dayjob and it's hard to me to do the videos every week, so my time is really limited! If you know someone who could do that for me, then great! Otherwise I simply cannot do that :(
Hi Jassy, I am writing to inform you that I just starter to watch your interview with Herman Li and he's really cool to hear him speak about his experiences with skills as both a guitar and video game player 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊. Can't wait to see the rest video when I get the chance and rock on 🎸🎸🎸🎸
@@JassyPabst I really liked it I hope you do the full version. Thank you very much for you reply. Very jealous of your guitar collection. Love your videos. Rock on
I have never heard her talk, this is awesome! I mostly listen to Christian music, country music and some metal okay a lot of metal, so I do like DragonForce even though the only song I've heard of theirs is Through Fire and Flames LOL! Damn you Guitar Hero! This was a great interview and I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed day💚
Wow 13 Bitches disliked. Im looking faward, than you can make it. Believe in yourself, work hard and everything will be fine. Greetings from Germany ^^
The moment you really want to learn playing guitar but you can't read the note sheets for the heck of it...I'm 25 and I've tried for over a decade just to learn to read notes... F my guitar career...
@@JassyPabst with reading I don't mean I got dyslexia, I mean with it, that I know their meaning/differences/whatever but I just don't know how...idk how to explain since my english isn't that good.. It's like you don't know anything about programming and someone shows you just the blank script of a whole video game to you and expects you to explain what each function means. You may know that those things do something and are there for a reason, but you just don't know what they individually are and how rewrite it. I hope this analogy explains it a bit better..
@@asmylia9880 You don't need to read the notes that look like this ♫ to play good guitar. Not at all. Most guitarists can't read those. You do need to be able to read the names of chords, and tabs once you're at a certain level, but those are nowhere near as difficult.
