Dragonite Hyperbeam Build & Guide *Win Every Zapdos!* 

I really like these build and guides for the characters even being a 2000 masters player I still learn little things from these videos that I didn’t realize or just forgot

If you want to switch out full heal, I’d recommend goal getter. A buddy barrierred-score shielded-goal gettered 50 score is so incredibly hard to stop. I’ve played hundreds of battles with Dragonite and have only been stopped twice with it

I think an Aegislash guide for wide guard sacred sword could be really cool, I love playing Aegislash but it's quite difficult to master

Really get trouble playing with Mime because I feel like some of its skillset feels vaguely explained by the game itself. To be fair, a lot of the game mechanics are vaguely explained in the first place

QOTD: I think Cotton Spore Eldegoss would make and interesting guide. The concept of the move itself isn’t hard but the timing of it and the need to be in the battle make it more challenging to use successfully

I'd love to see some defender guides. I understand a defender should keep the enemy Pokémon away from our attackers but implementing that can prove to be quite hard at times. I think Mamoswine would be my choice as it seems fun but difficult to do well with (although maybe that's just because it's a little underpowered relative to the other defenders?)

when dragonite was nerfed many players stopped playing it but I carried on with it and thanks for highlighting it again

In depth guides like this are amazing! With some Pokemon I'll wonder if I'm playing them the right way, and there might be some moves that I don't fully understand how they work. This Dragonite build makes much more sense to me now!

You Rock hyperbeam is (over powered/op) all dragonite move sets are very fun I personally use outrage with score items. score shield, buddy barrier, attack weight or if you like switch the attack weight for a muscle band or focus band and what you can do is extreme speed into their goal at lvl 8 and score big points but with hyperbeam and dragon dance it's just as extreme speed and outrage they both work the same but one does more cc while the other gives you more mobility. It's quite cool how versatile dragonite can be far range mid range or close range it's all up to the user at the end of the day. Love your video good dragonite skills. 🙌

My hyperbeam build I have tried recently is (muscle band, razorclaw, scope lense) for a full crit build and it is surprisingly fun. Also I always look for your in depth guides on all the pokemon. Especially after updates when I'm looking to try a new main. I really appreciate your videos.

I ran goal getter then switched to full heal but after playing again found out that goal getter is a little more game changing, awesome vid Jake maybe a vid on Gengar for the question of the day.

I feel like a good Lucario takes a good amount of skill to play! Maybe a guide on the traditional Lucario toplane would be good?

I know I play a fair share of Dragonite along side Aegislash on the all-rounder's side, but I never noticed the change in Hyper Beam's icon before! I need to keep an eye out for other move's like that in case it's possible on other Pokemon. Thanks for the tips, Sprag!

As a Dragonite main, my main tip is not going to jungle in solo queue, and going both lane. Give that experience to someone else. You don't need it! If you learn to play a LITTLE bit aggro with twister/dragon breath burst combo you can secure most of the Dinos and bees, score some points, and get 8 to secure first Dred, sometimes even 9. Try always to score 2nd tier bot when everybody's fighting over Rotom. He's not that important, except for the last one. If on a fight or trying to score, try to use your Unite at 50%, you'll have it make in a minute or so. Also I find that 35ish is the sweetspot to score using your unite/score shield combo. Veeeeery hard to be stopped, anything above that is a gamble. This strategy got me to 2000+ in my first season. Carrying matches by just securing every Dred, Zap, and scoring an average of 200+ points.

Even though I don't play Dragonite it's so useful to understand its moves better when going up against one. I am more aware of what to expect. Also, I really like playing support and would love to see a guide on some tips to improve my support game. I used to play Eldegoss a lot but I want to master Hoopa now. Again, thanks for putting out these guides. They are SO informative and helpful!

Literally any build for cram would be great. It’s hard bc he’s not great rn, but if you can figure out something solid for cram, that would be fun to try

I swore by this item build, then I tried full damage as a meme to be an objective-secure beast. muscle, razor, attack weight. the attack scaling on hyper beam is insane so if you can sneak some scores in early game you can hyper beam slightly earlier on objectives. dragon dance spam = razor claw boosted basics. even something fun like energy amp lets you show up late to objectives by jumping in with your unite and using the damage increase to steal (but you kinda really want buddy barrier in those situations so you don’t get KOed so easily). Dragonite is really fun!

I find it funny how if you look at it from a stacking perspective, dragonite has by far the best potential stats wise due to dragon dance increasing attack by an additional 24%. And since stage 3 hyper beam has solid scaling you turn what is technically the strongest single hit in the game when not factoring any items to the strongest even when factoring items. Even still its kinda pointless because even though you could do like a couple hundred extra damage to objectives, which is basically an increase of 300-500 more damage, it isnt that wild, and while you’re going to further chunk anyone you hit with a max stacks stage 3 hyper beam, you miss out on muscle’s consistency, buddy barrier’s team fighting potential and score shield’s game saving score capabilities.

I feel like x-scissor, shell smash crustle is one of the characters I feel like I should know what to do but in practice I feel like I no clue if what I'm doing is that effective Also I feel like hyper beam should be visually better, like before I ever saw it I thought that if they ever had a pokemon with hyper beam it would be this giant beam that has a super long cooldown and in this it's this tiny little beam :/

Hey Jake! Did you try jungle invade Machamp? The build doesn't matter, just select bulk up first... If you want a crazy build, i played it with a full speed build: Submission, cross chop Float stone, exp share, focus band Eject button It was a very fun match 😄

Recently I can't get anywhere near 100k damage, most of the times top at 60k. I know its not a goal to do such amounts of damage, but maybe a guide on how to do lots of damage or how to read matches and knowing where to be.

some interesting ideas for content: 1) zeraora discharge pull: boosted attack to paralyse opponents, upon last burst of discharge, paralysed opponents will be dragged towards you. Combo with volt switch it can drag enemies back to unfavourable positions. (helps to clear ur achievements too ;)) 2) sylveon hyper voice decreases enemies sp.def. I believe this isnt covered in the details of the skill and havent personally tested it out but heard this from kris's channel. Combo with a gard or gengar (any insane sp.attacker) for some fun time :) 3) maybe can share a little about how to abuse surf as greninja too

Great combo Score Shield and Buddy Barrier make! I prefer a more offensive route; for my Dragonite I pairing Razor Claw, Attack Weight, and Float Stone

Hyper beam was so fun when Dragonite first came out. It melted everything. Then they nerfed it, I switched to Outrage and never looked back

From memory, you only need 1 auto attack to keep juggling your dragon dance stacks. An important note if you’re keeping up the stacks on a wild Mon before engaging in a team fight. Similar to zeroaras wild charge

I noticed you didn't use terms like lane or jungle, hopefully that means you will be casting for an official event soon!

Hey Jake, it's ok to not be perfect with every Pokemon. Especially Pokemon that you don't play a whole lot of. I know it can be easy to be self-conscious, and more so for you because your job is to put your "skills" on display, but you play just about every Pokemon at an incredibly high level. More importantly, you make this very frustrating Team Battler way more fun just by being the coolest cowboy in Pokemon. I love you man. I wish you were my real Godfather, so something terrible and unforeseeable could happen to my parents and... anyway no sweat my dude!

Just so you know… great video btw! Hyper beam isn’t “sure hit”. You can avoid it by going out of the distance range. It’s a technicality cause it technically will always hit… but it is avoidable if you keep your distance and run out of the hit area while it’s charging

Been using Spout/Spin Blastoise a lot recently. Using specs, spatk specs, and score shield, I've gone 3 games in a row being highest damage on the team. 2 of those I was highest damage in the game. (I was second highest damage in that 3rd match by much less than 10k)

Please make an in depth video on how to best use blaze kick cinderace :)

QOTD: I would like to see a decidueye spirit shackle guide. I've seen people miss spirit shackle a lot (me included) so I think you making a guide on how to aim better with spirit shackle would help a lot

I was playing a unite match with cinder ace, I was headed to the top lane, we had a zeraora who was supposed to be at jungle, but he ditched it and went to top lane. I had to take jungle as cinder, cinder is not the best at jungle but it can still get the job done.

You have to use your unite move after the zapdos for scoring (and not be stunned by snorlax...) In general, i use its unite move for mobility and scoring and not for fights. its unite move doesn't do a lot of damage...

I use hyperbeam usually but I also use dance outrage as well and it helps me to defend myself and restore health with every hit. Same build but using dance with outrage instead of hyperbeam

Can you do Greedent next? It's very hars for me to grasp the covet + belch build. I see a lot of Greedents using the CovetBelch combo when I personally use the bulletseed build cuz it's easier.

QOD: I would say gengar but gengar is about getting used to buttong mashing in order. i think the toughest pokemon to play is either Aegislash or Crustle as crustle moveset can get kinda confusing on which moves to pick

I think a future sight gard guide could be fun. Assassin gengar would also be cool!

I think my thing with dragonite is it was nerfed a little too much for me. Hyper beams doesnt need to be OP, but the basic attack range nerf for me personally, really hurts :/

Dragonite just seems so rough to me sometimes. In my games, I'm usually one of the few at an objective, and the enemies usually know well enough to gun me down first (and they can do it pretty easily). More often than not, my fights are like those pre-Zap Rotom/Drednaw fights in this video. *QotD (even though it's 2 days later):* Lucario just doesn't seem to work for me, and I've even watched CrisHero's guide, but maybe I just need to play more games and get a better feel for making good judgment. I find myself not tanky enough to go into a fight first, and I definitely can't take tanks down by myself. In team fights I find myself wishing that I was a Charizard with a unite move instead. In lane, if I'm up against certain ranged characters (all of which are common picks), I'll also be entirely stopped from stacking Attack Weight. I'd really like to see how Lucario is supposed to lane against the likes of Pika/A9/Slowbro/Wiggly (and ranged characters in general, especially ADCarries, make stacking a lot riskier and difficult, unless they got overconfident and get KOed first).

I second the mime guide I have a hard time playing supports in general other difficult characters for me are Aegislash and Dragonite so this vid came in clutch I tried playing with it twice and I wasn't feeling it but going against it in matches I'm always like wish I could play dragonite like that
