The burning breath of the Dragon shakes the earth and the confidence of the most deadly armies. With his gigantic shadow, he eats the sunlight, fierce, majestic and terrible.
His fellow creatures around the world have different appearances and symbols depending on their culture of origin.
In ancient Greece, it protects treasures. In medieval Europe, the dragon is evil and ravishes princesses, while in Indonesia, the dragon is a protector, and in China, it is a symbol of life and power.
It is found in many legends, beliefs and folk tales, and has always fascinated.
From Tolkien with Bilbo the Hobbit and Smaug, Ancalagon the Black in Legendarium , and Glaurung in The Silmarillion, then the Lord of the Rings with the evocation of Drogoth, to Dragon Ball Shenron (シェンロン), Haku in Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away, Maleficent in Disney's Sleeping Beauty, or Falkor in The Neverending Story, without forgetting, of course, George R R Martin and Game of Thrones which sees the birth (and death for two of them) Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion
which will give birth to the highly anticipated spin-off House of the Dragon as well as many stories including the first one that sees the early form "Dracan" appear in the epic poem Beowulf, then movies and books on the subject counting obviously on the Chinese zodiac sign, the Dragon fascinates. It also fascinates me as rarely any other mythical being and I deliver here a tribute to this feared and revered creature.
