The gigantic no-name chinese supplier can afford bad reviews and losing your business. A smallish local business can't. I got stuff via international shipping including China and had both good and horrible experience. Would i do it to save 300 bucks on a phone? Yes. Would i do it to save 20 bucks on a stuffed animal? Not really. There's no protection on the product at all which means promo needs to be right and fast... which would cost a lot more than 50K. Mothercare on the otherhand could have their own version of this in every one of their stores inside two months. It's a non-starter.
