All he had to say was "a normal tap requires you touch it AFTER you've washed your hands, this one you don't" and he'd have won over Nick Jenkins 🤦🏻♂️
you kind of do have to touch it after you've washed your hands because for it to release water you have to touch it. unless the thing is unplugged in which you'd either plug it back up and touch it, or let the entire bottle waste for one hand wash.
0:40 You can see it in his eyes, his sneaky snake eyes and where's his hand? Pause it at 0.40 and see for yourself. Makes me wonder what else went on in that room when the cameras weren't rolling.

Great product. I was an avid backpacker, climber, etc and I would have carried that for a portable shower in the mountains. I can see this for countries in Southeast Asia. Africa, etc.
I don't think you were an avid backpacker, climber, etc. You wouldn't use precious water to take a shower in the mountain. You would know how much water is needed a day for a man doing exercise, it doesn't give you any margin for a shower with the water you are carrying.
I think the bigger market would be people out on picnics, patio parties, outdoor chefs, fishermen - especially salt water ones. If they're so worried about cross contamination, set a container of hand sanitizer next to it.
I don't know anyone who wipes their bum with two hands. If they just instructed people to use their other hand, that should take care of the contamination issue.
You could even just put some sanitiser into the water and you'd be good to go, since the device would disinfect itself when used. After all, it's not meant to be drunk...
I didn't even watch this pitch when I found out it was a reaction room episode. Who ever came up with that idea made flow signal guy and car doctor look like geniuses
Cross Contamination is a difficult issue - I fell out with a police officer at a Covid checkpoint here in Ireland during the first lockdown in 2020 - I was sitting in a line of cars and the officer on the checkpoint was checking the documents of the drivers ahead of me - he was wearing medical gloves and taking each drivers documents - checking them and then handed them back - when it came my turn I put my licence up against the glass but he wanted me to hand it to him - I said - "but you've just handled the documents of several other drivers wearing the same pair of gloves - and now you want to possibly contaminate mine - can't you see how pointless that is if we are concerned about spreading infection....?" - he wasn't too pleased....!
Proof, that Protocol, quite often, has little to do with any, real, common sense. It's all about pretentious types, attempting to exert control over the " common herd " ....
I disagree, a lot of taps in public spaces have sensor based switch or push button that stops automatically after someone cleaned his hands. Even if some places are using good old taps, any innovative product should take into consideration cross-contamination problem, especially after Covid
@@valentinivanov2029 I said average tap. So unless you live alone or never use a standard tap then the same risk applies . You can also say the same about cubicle door handles. Flushing mechanisms. Ect.
Regular tap: Touch handle with contaminated hand. Wash hands. Turn tap off, recontaminating your hands This invention: Contaminate by squeezing. Wash your hands with provided water from squeeze. And that's it, you're not touching it again and recontaminating your hands. So unless we're talking about touchless faucets, isn't this cleaner?
yeah im surprised no one mentioned this. because like all other ways to get water they have to be touched, but very few of them requires less than being touched twice.
The only taps you don’t touche are motion detecting ones. Most you have to touch to turn of AFTER you’ve washed your hands. This you only touch before and so is more sanitary than most taps. Idk what the dragons are thinking.
Except 90% of places where you would have a tap you have paper towels ect to dry your hands that you then use to turn the tap off so you don’t touch it. Were you never taught this? Do you use your clean hands to turn the tap off?
I have a RU-vid channel on campervans and one of the biggest problems for those who wild camp is access to water, especially in older VW type campers which may carry only 20 litres with them. Even in my motorhome, I am very frugal with water whilst wild camping in the summer when I don't know where the next supply is coming from. This, I think would be very useful and beats putting a small amount into a bowl to wash one's hands or whatever. I have not heard of it on the market which suggests that it might not have succeeded, however maybe I missed it!
To solves cross contamination you could simply attach another device, that you use to grab the tap. However, in a humanitarian issue, or even a public Camp, nobody would use it
Maybe he could have had a string/pully contraption that releases the water. Maybe a foot pedal that releases water in a spray. Or maybe put disinfectant water inside. During covid, I watched people put their hand on hand sanitizer and push down and product squeezed into their hands. Then the next guy did it on and on IN A HOSPITAL visiting room. That was cross contamination but it happened in probably a million stores, business, work places, restaurants and schools.
@@b-dogs1038 well that's congratulations to him. I love watching Shark Tank and Dragons Den. I think it's better than some of these business classes that you pay $3,000 for some Professor that never worked outside of the University. It's the best entrepreneurial training program
developing countries might have poor community hygiene but they do take personal hygiene more serious than "developed" countries. Cross check with COVID figures.
this is likely better than nothing, chances are current water system isnt very sanitary anyways. Also pretty sure this is actually a Thruple, and the beeb didnt want to say it
Cross contamination happens even with stainless steel taps in bathrooms. Nothing new there. He should've said they they're used in pairs for best protection, first one gets off primary matter, seconds cleans the hands. The liquid inside also has bleach which cleans the hands. I wonder what happened to his investment
Personally, I wet my hands BEFORE washing them. Who's grabbing the sac when their hands are already clean? 🤣 Some sturdier answers would have won that for you mate
This is the hand washing equivalent of the Dyson Blade hand dryer. Neat idea, but not really sanitary... Sometimes a person comes up with a decent idea but doesn't look at it from all angles. I do think it has some usefulness, just not enough for it to be sold in large quantities.
I have a gardening and grounds maintenance business and this would be ideal for my van, it'd be good for washing dogsh!t off me ! Where can I get one ?
He should have gone with a totally different direction: mentioning the green aspect of it. You nowadays have this expensive water tap with a efficient water flow to reduce the amount of water used to wash your hand. They costs hundreds of dollars. This thing is cheap. So for instance on school playgrounds or other places that are hot and water is scarce.. and you don’t want people to waste too much water.
We need to get this guy on to Shark Tank. I don't think anyone in this group has ever gone camping. 100% they've never used a campground washroom if they are talking about sanitary issues. I know I would buy one of these if it was in my local camping gear store. Edit: Come do Dragon's Den Canada mate. You'd get traction there too.
