27:00 no way bro. I always get hype af when you theorycraft and chinwag on Dragunity. I can't wait for the updated deck list so I can try this out online. Thanks a bunch!
The fact that Leyvatein has transitioned from being a win more brick from the early days to an abuse-able extender in modern variants is just wild to see. This structure deck has done Dragunity good and I'm beyond happy for this.
Whenever I watch your videos I feel like I'm watching one of Yusei Fudo's "big brain" moments where he visualizes cards chaining together towards victory, except this is way cooler because of how deep, technical, and detailed you are. It's a mindset that I would love to incorporate into my own deck-building, particularly when it comes to Plants. God I miss Plant Synchro...maybe I'll pick this up as a way to scratch the itch.
Lol always chuckle to myself every time I get to the part where you apologize for "keeping us here so long" being that I have watched this video in its entirety more times than I care to admit lol. Point being, you help so many people understand the nuanced complexities of this deck - so I'm pretty sure I speak for the majority when I say no apologies needed friend.
I like to imagine that during an actual battle, these combos would look like Dragunity creatures continuously hopping on and off each other for no reason other than "we can". Their weird cirque du soleil attracts other powerful dragons who are like "hey...that's pretty good!"
Few things. Short: Dux > Senatus RU-vid > Twitch Long comment: I'm playing a more winged beast oriented Dragunity deck, so Senatus locking me to dragons is so bad. My deck is still consistent as yours and board is literally the same with only instead of Goliath there is barrier statue of storwinds with Simorgh link. Also i can summon Simorgh of Darkness instead of Barrier statue for additional 4th negate if i play against non combo deck. And youtube is still much better then twitch, less laggy and you don't need to download additional app. We all have yt on phone. xD Just sayin'. Anyway, great video, i'm playing Dragunity since they come out. I like your channel. Keep good work. :D
Literally bought the deck after your last deck tech because it's suuuuper budget in the EU, like €50 and change at the time, and its actually so much fun to play (second only to my boys The Blackwings and ahead of Wind-Ups), so I'm happy to just have to buy Glow when it gets released 🙃
Just killing it lol you clearly know this archetype inside-and-out man. Came here for a lesson and wasn't disappointment. These strings are so powerful and the dragon cards don't have a ton of opt effs
Great tutorial as usual. I have a feeling you have this weird love-hate relationship with Dragunities. Like you're just tired of them but you can't resist them at the same time.
Is it bad that i enjoyed a simple deck discussion more than a meta duel video? To be honest, it was well scripted and thourough so i wasnt bored, but still it tells something about the meta.... Great video, i wish you had the same passion about DD like Dragunity and Ritual Beast, i remember some great videos from 3-4 years ago.
It's not bad at all. It means you value things of substance not just empty/flashy entertainment. Part of me wants to re-learn the D/D deck but everytime I had an idea for it in the last 6 months the card I was using got banned before I could do anything with it XD
@@PhoenixFlareX The release dates of OCG cards also doesnt help. About Dragunity, i believe we still wait on a card. It will probably be a spell trap with the new synchro versus brionac, since the other ice barrier dragons face ascalon and the retrained leviaten. The deck needs some spell/trap protection, because i believe Elpy wont survive until structure's release.
Some questions: - In the third combo you could add another Amorphage by discarding a card. Isnt Wrath or Greed viable? Especially after siding, greed is an auto win versus alter, eldrich etc. I want to build an functioning amorphage deck for trolling my locals and dragunity seem like a good (and familiar engine) -You should make some "nibiru-proof" combos this well explained. I believe it is quite costly to take that route (for the end board). My locals play nibiru heavily, in the meta not so much (so it is clearly player preference). In your opinion, would you go nibiruproof, or full combo and if they have it they have it? -A future video with possible interruptions on worst possible parts would be nice (imperm on romulus etc) and even better what extenders help overcome that interruption during that part of the combo. -Your streams are always fixed to 1080p and it eats my data like no other, would it be too much to have optional quality instead of the fixed one?
Twitch does not let me have the option for variable stream quality as an affiliate I'm so sorry. for the 3rd combo. The last Gae Dearg summon is negated by Darkness Metal so it cannot add anything there. But Greed is a very valid side deck option. As of right now I am not even considering if they have Nibiru for combo proof of concepts, when we get closer to the cards being legal and we have an established metagame for that time period I will be going much more in depth about playing around the hand traps of said format.
I'm glad that now we can play hand traps back then even called by the grave hindered your combo potential but now I can play 9-12 hand traps and still have enough resources to do the combo
@@thomaspaterson1354 Basically if you summon a dragon from ed to his arrow, you get to ss a dragon/winged-beast from hand in defense, with negated effect and it can't be used for link material
I run dragunity and I say one thing. Couse plus dux plus set up grave of three phalanx and one couse means a total of four special summons which just change the game. But I keep one couse on barcha to have arma in grave to say her then equip couse to it then synchro and link away
Oh ya, another one is when ascalon is destroyed, use his effect to ss luin, have militum or legion then as ascalon from equip, synchro luin with phalanx to get crystal wing then luin equips to ascalon then equip divine lance to him then equip bradistock. That’s a total of 5300 afk that can go twice plus banish along with a negate
The really biggest problem of the deck is the same 2 handtraps or Nibiru. With 1 or 2 extender you can't play trought Nibiru? I really enjoy your combo videos. This deck was my first at Yu-Gi-Oh.
What do you think about using dragunity Tribus w/ Remus into Romulus as a 1 card starter? like 2 Senatus, 2 Dux for the follow up plays, and 1 Tribus are my ratios thus far @PheonixFlareX ? I think you should make a 2021 video as this deck is releasing in a couple months mate. Cheers and thanks for the many tutorials thus far for Dragunity.. I plan on playing the next format with it as a previous infernoble (Synchro) meta player myself.
Love to see the theory on this deck whenever something happens with new cards and banlist! So I did a count on the extra deck and it seems to be 13 cards, basically everything for the combos plus Needlefiber for when you use Dux instead of Senatus, and then Number 38 for the times your combo works out that way. What else do you suggest playing? Another link 2 for guardragon set ups or something like Luin or Vajrayanna?
Real nice combo breakdowns, as always. So if you wanted to make your combos Nibiru proof with Remus and Legatus, I assume it means you'd have to play either a second copy of Gae Dearg or play Vajrayana and get Phalanx in grave early?
@sketch You can do exactly five summons into a crystal wing without a normal summon. Saving your normal summon for full combo. The deck is very nice now.
@@Soriichi Thanks, I knew that part. I guess I should clarify that my original question was about Extra Deck cards and space than the actual combo. Gea Dearg is obviously an essential piece of any Dragunity combo, but to make the Crystal Wing first you need a Gea Dearg too, so does that mean we need to make sure there's space in the Extra Deck for 2 Gea Deargs or one extra spot for a Vajrayana?
Oh. No after you do the Remus + Legatus combo into Crystal Wing, you normal summon Senatus or Dux and get your Tuner on field, and just make Romulus with those 2, which searches Glow for Mystletainn to summon Dearg again. No stepping up through any extra deck card required since you already made Dearg once.
How this deck could play against and with hand traps? My big issue when I was playing this deck last year was those bricks and the fact that without senatus the core combo was screwed. Thank you anyways, you are the one that last year gave me the opportunity to play yugioh again.
it's a bit better at playing through handtraps due to Remus and Legatus interactions but otherwise it's still about as bad as it was. It did improve a bit on it's own tho because combos take less cards to do more now, meaning extenders have more value at playing through hand traps.
@@PhoenixFlareX do you think that the combo could go ahead with an ash on, let's say, senatus? Or a imper/veiler on any of the first cards? The reason why I quitted playing the deck was ALSO this one.
While you run this deck as is or are you going to change it be use the guard dragon or Rokken cards and also what is the different between how you run this deck then the other people what positive and negative
PhoenixFlareX okay what about if you run 1 of each of this cards?? I don’t disagree with that but you can ignore this cards either in this type of deck Boot sector launch Rokket recharger Rokket tracers Striker dragon I think this cards can be extenders it’s only 4 and you only need one copy of them Also why don’t you run number 38: hope harbinger titanic galaxy not enough room
Oh I can 100% ignore them. They are bricks, they suck to draw, The extra deck is tight so why would I ever want to make room for Striker Dragon. The allure of these cards is that people are showing you a 1.5 card combo that makes 3 negates..... Neat, except it sucks. You literally have to open Remus for the combo to work ontop of playing these bricks. Meanwhile if you actually sequence play correctly just Dux equipping a Tuner or Senatus discarding a Tuner is a SUPERIOR combo not requiring Remus to ever be drawn nor does it require Rokket bricks in deck. a combo that ends on Spheres, Titanic Galaxy, Savage for the same 3 "negates", but also summons Goliath off Spheres. Literally a better combo, one I plan to show in the future, I did not show it in this video because it doesn't sequence well into the Lechery combos which were the main focus of the later combos in the video. I see no value in the Rokket cards if you are comboing correctly.
Funny enough shouldn’t there be 3 more cards coming in the deck? In regards to following the Structure Deck R trends Here’s hoping those help other aspects
Yes 1 of them is basically garunteed to be a Dragunity Spell based on the set list. But there should be no new monsters in the structure deck, and anything other than the 1 spell should be traps. I expect 1 spell 1 trap and 2 more new cards and that's it. Even tho some weird lv3 Dragunity just got revealed as a VJUMP promo in Japan, we do not know the effect yet.
PhoenixFlareX I’m honestly worried on seeing that new tuner considering it’s level and knowing the primary synchro levels for Dragunity being 6,8,and 10 (Ik they have their forgotten child DK-Trident but that’s a story for another day). Here’s hoping it further improves the deck though
I literally only play competitively. Casual play is something I cannot let myself enjoy no matter how hard I try. Hence why I have always been this decks harshest critic about it being bad.
@@PhoenixFlareX Yeah I imagine it's really hard to knowing play a shit deck or at least a deck that doesn't have anything going for it in terms of consistency or strong plays when you know you could actually play something else, or Actually win games.
I actually been testing a combo involving samsara where you discard it with gae dearg on the third summon and use atum and red eyes darkness metal linking into hieratic seal then samsara for mystletainn and tribute the hieratic seal and so on
@@froy1724 Yes I am aware of the play. That just seems unnecessary as a whole. Extra steps that does get you much farther than we already go. Some instances doesn't get you any farther.
@@froy1724 I try to play around with this tributing hieratic seal with samsara idea, and I manage to get additional crystal wing. I got the same field as senatus + tuner + glow combo but with generic extender.
@@TaleraxDeAvonYes you can go generally farther in each combo with it. But it doesn't get you any farther than the Glow versions of the combos (which you also do with other card combinations not just Glow) and the main issue is it makes your deckbuilding worse. You have to play Samsara and REDMD. for those combos to work and those are 2 cards that you just don't have to play under normal circumstances making your deck less consistent. This play definitely has more application in different combo structures, but I see it as redundant in the combos i'm currently exploring.
Cannot wait until the Deck Profile, Gonna be abusing the Hell out of this deck, and Definitely gonna be adding in cards like Mask of Restrict and counters to Big Round Boi, since from the looks of it, Most decks can't out the latter 2 board and struggle with Senatus Tuner
Can you also try to make the ocg version combo(without elpy)? since it's already baned in ocg I can't seem to find the way to make the similar board without it.
You dont have anyway to make optimal Goliath Lechery boards without Elpy. All the combos would devolve back to ending on Spheres, Savage, Titanic Galaxy with almost all the variations without playing silly bricks in deck like Rokkets. I would have to find the exact sequencing tho.
Is this vid the reason your Dragunity stream on twitch went offline? I wanted to finish it today but it's not available anymore (my timezone sucks, so I never catch you online)
nah it went down for a different reason. I don't like leaving VODs up from when I am drinking but was willing to make an exception, but then there was some muted music audio problems so I just took it down to be safe.
uuuh if I were to switch heavily to Dux versions of play it would be because they are objectively better than Senatus. Not because of gimmicky cards like Droplets tbh.
literally cannot even complete most of the combos. So dogshit. Wonder what could be keeping you from remembering 1 universal rule that literally never changes tho.
I mean just the last combo in this video should tell you that's incorrect. And then there are several others I haven't yet shown where you also cannot replace Baby Roc
@@PhoenixFlareX ohhh yeah I think it was only in OCG, my bad Still I don't think I have Elpy, I should probably look around for a copy of it lol. So if you were to do like say, the senatus and a tuner + extender combo without Elpy, what workaround would you do to get the same result? Is Elpy an absolutely essential card or can I still get strong combos off without it?
I'm wondering about what to summon off Atum if you open Leyvaten, since Mystletainn can only equip something if summoned from hand. Is there a way to unbrick that situation?
You summon Darkness Metal Dragon from the deck to summon Leyvaten from your hand. Seriously, don't listen to Phoenix's suggestion to JUST summon the tuner from Atum. It leads to a inferior board.
@@tylergianchetta3946 Don't listen to Phoenix's suggestion to JUST summon the tuner from Atum. It leads to a inferior board. Put RedMD into your deck and summon it from Atum instead.
@@Soriichi He's fine if you wanna make Crystal Wing without a Normal Summon to block Nibiru and still go off. 3 card combo with Zephy, Remus, and Legatus
Remus and Legatus don't actually affect much for the normal combos you'll be doing. They are just consistency boosters above all else. Glow is the card that changes the most. Every combo is changed by it existing, Remus and Legatus are cards you may not draw, so building combos around hard drawing Remus are terrible. Unless you for some reason think the Remus + discard combo playing the Rokket cards is good. Which it isn't btw.
@@PhoenixFlareX ah ok I understand, but remus could work as a baby roc and gives you more possibilities to start with the combo. anyway thank you very much for the video, i could ask you if you could make the list of cards
@@henriisufi793 well not necessarily, since the baby roc actually has actual specific use in some comboes for instance bouncing with Zephyros. The new cards aside from glow and areadbhair don't really do anything combo wise they just make it so you can play past hand traps or serve as combo starters if you don't draw senatus/dux or you are afraid if nibiru.
