To those confused about the middle section. The middle section actually consists of many large and small sections of decks under the third funnel scattered across the seabed. The creator himself has claimed in a few comments that he has assembled the pieces together to form the middle section. These pieces separated due to the violent implosion of the stern (because of a large amount of air still being inside the stern after it went down) and also because the open or split part of the hull faced forward while going down. This exposed the vulnerable part to the huge force of around 25000 tons (Titanic in total weighed around 46,329 Gross Registered Tons) of steel in the stern pushing through high pressure water with speed. The same did not happen with the bow as the split part faced backward and did not experience any force of the bow plowing through the water. So there is no single big "middle piece" like the bow or stern. and about bodies, I personally believe they would probably be never found as extensive exploration of the interiors of wreck is not permitted. Bodies would most likely be found much inside the ship and the bones would be scattered in many small fragments under massive amounts of debris and silt. The problem is that some people don't want anyone tampering with the wreck it being considered a grave site etc. Even the idea recovery of the Marconi instrument from the ship was scrapped. I think we should at least recover some more remnants of the ship for future generations to see and experience the glory of the world's finest ocean liner and the fateful night that all those 2,240 people faced.

I agree that it would be great to get some of these items before it's gone forever. However, I think it should be left alone. It is a grave site, there likely was very few bodies still inside, there still were some. We've got all we need, titanic will never be forgotten, but bringing stuff up to the surface is really not going to say more about what the ship was like than artifacts We've already got. Leave her alone and let nature take its course.

There were probably very few bodies who eventually settled in the area within the wreck, most passengers & crew was wearing lifebelts when the Titanic sank, and a large majority of the victims drifted far away from the site of the wreck before their bodies sank to the bottom. I think only a very small number of bodies followed the Titanic to the bottom, i also tend to think that the shoes found on the wreck site did not come from bodies, but rather from the passengers & crew bags and so on.

I have seen photos of a pair of boots with uniform pants still "connected" to them as if they had been worn at the time of the sinking. There was also other pairs of shoes that by their position in the silt looks as if they were worn when they settled on the bottom. I doubt there are any actual bodies to be found, teeth would be the only thing left by now.

Both things can and were likely true. The truth is that there were a large number of passengers that never escaped the lower decks and quite a few that never put on life vests. Those that had vests on were recovered by Carpathia. However, to your point, when the Titanic descended it is likely many of the bodies were scattered near but not exactly with the wreck.

2 and a half miles down, 400 bar/6,000 psi...even as the ship sunk to half way that depth, the pressure would have been crushing. With the movement of the ship downward, the room would eventually squeeze the air out and fill it with water. Now, those who were deep down and the possibility of the ship still having air pockets, the pressure would have sent them unconscious within 20 seconds after the ship submerged and was heading down. Not painful; it would be like falling unconscious and never waking up. Scary, but not a slow death like drowning. The ones trapped inside when the air pocket went and filled with water...same result. The crushing would kill them first if they were lucky before the drowning. Do I think there might still be bodies down there? No. Ship having any rooms without water filling it now is relatively low. All these years, I'd imagine the bodies are long gone from corrosion, but less likely is a chance there's any compartment left without water filling it.

@bradbrown8759

That's the same thing I'm thinking. Is it a big chunk that was overlooked? Or is it extrapolated based on a shredded mess of a debris field? A third section is a huge development if it's still a structure. It was always depicted as the bow. And the stern. With a messy rip edge only missing a few yards of superstructure, which mostly disintegrated on break up. This is the best and most Incredible info and imaging yet no doubt. I rarely say this, but It could have been longer.

@@bradbrown8759 There are many main sections of Titanic. The bow and stern of course, but also a section that would have been under the third funnel, going down to C deck on the starboard side and B deck on the port side. It lies far east; the furthest piece from the main two sections. There is also a section that would have been behind the previous section, which is the reciprocating engine skylight, going down to B deck, however the section is upside down. This section is only a little up north of the stern section. There is also a section around the middle of the debris field, which is cabin areas from B deck to D deck, this would have been under the third funnel section that is far east. It is highly likely that bone fragments of people who remained aboard the ship are still there and it is highly unlikely that they would be found given the complexity of the wreck and difficulty of access to much of the lower deck areas. Also as the ship struck the ocean floor some bodies may have floated clear. And of the people who died in the water? CARPATHIA and CALIFORNIAN both reported a 'field' of bodies. White Star chartered two vessels to recover as many as possible and they were successful at that. However a third ship failed to find much as the bodies sank and were taken from the area by the Newfoundland Current. I think a very small number were reported well away from the area by other ships up to a fortnight later.

Absolutely beautiful and extremely well done 3D animation. As far as bodies being encapsulated in the ship's cabins; the possibility is next to none. Unless they were trapped and unable to exit their cabins, most people were up on deck trying to board lifeboats.

I think from what I've understood from the internal dives , remains may at least have been partially located if they have a rule of turning the camera off. Best chance would be a person embedded in silt and becomed almost fossilised? I don't know why, but it's fascinating in a compelling way. But if we do find remains I guess they should be left alone (save picture evidence for accademdic records) or reburied...definitely not in a museum.

A lot of bodies inside the titanic would've been from the 2nd and 3th class passengers, as this ship was massive, and not everybody spoke english back in the day, James Cameron tries to portray that in his movie, you see some passengers with dictionaries trying to find their way, those people did go down with the ship for sure, and the crew that were working deep down in Titanic to keep the lights on for as long as possible also did go down with her, but since most of those people were in the stern section, no remains are inside of there, because of the big implosion that happened when the stern went down. There would've been a lot of air pockets in the stern because how fast that section of the ship sank, the bow section is preserved so well because it had the time to slowly fill up, making air pockets almost non-existant, and if you were in the stern section when under water, the pressure of the water would've ripped you apart. It's hard to think about what happens at such depts, to give you an idea, at around 167 feet down (about 50 meters), the pressure on your body is already 5 ATM (or 5 times the pressure you feel on land) which already is a lot, so imagine being 1 mile (1.6km) down. Needless to say that the remains would've had a hard time existing down there, especially bones. In the bow there might be human remains, maby from that officer who broke his leg in boiler room 5, who knows, but the stern? No way that any remains are still intact in it because of the implosion

I just learned that thru recently declassified documents that Robert Ballard’s quest to find the Titanic in 1985 was actually a cover up for his real mission which was to find 2 American nuclear submarines which sank and the US government didn’t want Russia to find out where the nuke zone was. He found the submarines which left 12 days for him to search for the Titanic. Luckily, he found it. If anyone knows more details about this, please let me know in the comments. Thanks

It's been confirmed many 3rd class passengers were in fact STILL WAITING for instructions in their rooms and didn't want to partake in the calamity heard from the halls. So most likely that's where one would most likely find there bones if any. One wouldn't find however any ' air pockets, especially at water pressure of over 5,000 lbs per square inch ,but since there would be little or no water movement in those areas " body marks" may be found where they settled once the ship settled at the bottom.

Sharks have been documented diving to just over 12,000 feet, and the Titanic sits at 13,000 feet, so it's not totally impossible that a very courageous shark might just be able to reach it. But loads of them feeding on the victims? no definitely not. It's well beyond the depth even the toughest sharks would normally hunt at. From what I've read, the only life to be found around the wreck is plant based. I think there will be a handful of people still inside the wreck, such as the electrician's who stayed behind to keep the power...lights...going. One person for sure who stayed behind was an officer who broke his leg in one of the boiler rooms and as was resting on the floor, a bulkhead gave way and flooded the area...while the other workers fled the scene. But the general consensus seems to be that most of the bodies drifted for miles in the ocean currents and would have eventually sank as their cork life preservers became saturated with water.

At about 4 KM underwater, The pressure would be INTENSE. The human body, compared the the titanic, would have been unable to withstand the pressure at the bottom. My guess is the bodies were crushed during decent and any that remained at the ocean floor with the ship would have been crushed into powder. So if there are bodies in the ship, they would likely resemble the sand that surrounds the ship.
@bruggerfilms3d
@bruggerfilms3d Год назад
Thank you for participating.
@bluemarlin8138
@bluemarlin8138 Год назад
Well, that’s not really how it works. The human body is 70-75% water, and water is incompressible. A lot of the body’s other mass is also basically incompressible. What pressure does is to compress all the air in the body. So if by some miracle a person could hold their breath to that depth, the pressure would either collapse their lungs and sinuses or just force water in there. And of course you couldn’t equalize your ear pressure that deep without acclimating, so your eardrums are gone. The air in your blood would be compressed too. But your body would still look the same. Now, if you were brought up from that depth quickly, your body might swell up like a balloon until the pressure equalized.
@SittingWolfParanormal420
@SittingWolfParanormal420 Год назад
you evidently don't understand what pressure does to a body at that depth and what would happen would be the pressure would force any and all air out of the body meaning that the chest and skull would be crushed by the water pressure but other than that the bodies would for the most part still look somewhat intact however as a body descends (that means sinks) its not crushed into dust by the pressure so in other words the bodies would be slowly eaten by any wildlife in that are and bones would be consumed and dissolved away. however if the cabins and rooms that are completely sealed off within the ship that haven't been found and entered since they are sealed more than likely its possible that bodies could still be preserved in near perfect condition also I don't believe in that bs rule that if bodies are found that the cameras have to be turned off that's a load of bs and I believe that if bodies are found that they should be shown as well as identified and buried accordingly

Where the bodies wound up: The water was so cold, anyone exposed to it passed around 15 minutes. Now it took roughly 8 days for the other ship arrive to retrieve the bodies that were "able", and if they weren't they were carefully put back in the water. Until then, the ocean current pulled them with it, the animals in the ocean scavenged such, but a body in water wouldn't have stayed intact complately. it's all sad. This was still a great animation.

@@smartscratcheastmidlands6589 actually yes from 1912 because those very well preserved parts of the ship that are difficult to gain any access to since they've been sealed off from the outside currents and due to the depth and frigid temperature at the bottom where the ship is located could definitely very well contain possibly well preserved bodies however gaining a way in to access the inside of these sealed off sections would be very damaging to the wreckage but at the same time it would be interesting to see how preserved these rooms are being as they have been sealed off for so long

sounds like you believe in the v break theory that has been disproven multiple times it looks folded and crushed on the ocean floor cuz the ship was going close to 30mph and upon hitting the bottom the column of water pressure that followed the ship to the bottom is what caused the ship to appear crushed and folded in in some places as well as the impact of the ship hitting the bottom at the speed it did. Also when the ship was fully submerged it only took 10 minutes for the ship to go from the surface to the bottom of the north Atlantic

So Rose did the calculations in her head while floating on a door in the North Atlantic and came up to the conclusion that for Jake to live it’s going to cost her the midtown townhouse and at best she maybe able to get a brownstone in Williamsburg Brooklyn and she wasn’t going to be able to climb up the social ladder with a made up name , no family history, and owning a house in Brooklyn . She will be lucky if she could get a mailman to marry her under those circumstances so Jack had to go nothing personal but it’s dollars and cents , and besides she faked it when he hit that shit on the boat.

A very impressive video! Thank you for showing us this. As for bodies, it is my educated guess that there would be very few bodies left within the ship aside from crew members in the bowels of the ship in the engine room and places like that, or, also people trapped below decks as suggested in the 1997 movie. I believe that the largest majority of passengers were deck side when she went down and thusly, lost in the waters and sea currents. Hypothermia would have come quickly and if internal gasses built up within the bodies, and along with life vests being worn so they floated, sharks and other predators would have eaten and scattered the remains widely as they drifted away from the wreckage site. Lastly, over the decades, as we've seen with whales and other bones found on the ocean floor. If they're not covered up in sediment, then pin worms and other scavengers consume them. I DO believe that there ARE bones left down there, but they're buried under 111 years of sediment.

Very amazing animation. But as far as I know, the middle section itself has also split into two smaller parts of deck and frames. Many call them the "Aft Tower" and "Forward Tower". And additionally, their keel structure has also been separated during the sinking into two pieces of double bottom that are located separated from the two "towers".

The Discovery channel did a documentary Drain the Titanic showing what Titanic would look like if they drained the ocean

I’ve had my eardrums burst at just 12 feet below the surface. I can’t imagine the pain from the pressure of being pulled down with a quickly sinking ship!
@katherineberger6329
@katherineberger6329 Год назад
The good news is, they didn't suffer long. Any part of the stern (the bow was completely flooded by the time it tore off and began its plunge) that was intact enough to hold air would only have kept it for a few seconds after descending from the surface before the water pressure became great enough to either force the remaining air out through seams or implode the air pockets, killing anyone inside them.
@carljohnson621
@carljohnson621 Год назад
@@katherineberger6329 That's basically what happened to them. The whole stern imploded seconds after it went under, almost definetely killing everybody inside it.
@tonyjameson3111
@tonyjameson3111 Год назад
@@carljohnson621 Exactly! Survivors said that they heard multiple explosions after the stern fell beneath the surface. Anyone who was still in their quarters or the common spaces would have been crushed or sucked out. I have read that the interiors of the stern were pretty much striped clean in most places.

There would be no bodies left at the Titanic site. Bodies are made up of water, soft tissue, and muscles. The skeleton is probably the hardest thing. If the actual sinking & explosions that took place as it sank didn't decimate the remaining people on/in the ship the descent with all its pressure would have started the destructive process (why do you think humans can only go down in a special pressurized diving bell). OK -- let's say a body survives the descent in that extremely cold water and isn't hit by debris. There are bacteria, and organisms in the water even at that depth that since 1912 would have eaten the remains. It's over 100 years below the surface. Unprotected in the ocean. Maybe if it were in an air-tight compartment -- there's one: the swimming pool room which had its water-tight latch fastened & secured. It's probably underwater for decades now but anything in there would've stood a better chance of being "preserved." Soft tissue decomposes. The human body was never designed to last forever even after death. 50 years in an air-tight coffin, skin & tendons mummify. It takes about 80 years for a skeleton to become just dust in a coffin. Skeletons would have disappeared for the same reason rocks in a stream get smoothed over by the rushing cold water. Skeletons are not rocks. There are exceptions but very few. At 2.4 miles down in the ocean in extremely cold water with tons of pressure -- no exceptions. It's all sad -- my problem is how the builders cut costs. They made the ship so luxurious yet, used cheaper, weaker rivets in putting the body of the ship together & soldering the iron plates. It was unsinkable if nothing touched it.
