Been looking for a Gradius/Life Force/Radin game that can scratch that itch for a while, and this looks to be it. I'm very impressed with the old skool touch of play. It being bought right now.
This looks so sick. I love this. It is such a shame I can't say DRAINUS out loud without a whole paragraph preceding the fact that they named their game DRAINUS. ... why did they name it that... C'mon Team Ladybug... whyy
Because it's a japanese developer and they more likely pronounce it as something like durainusu so they don't have a problem. I'm guessing the name is a play on "drain" and "Gradius". It seems like only americans get hung up on the name so much.
@@Qwarky I would also hazard a guess that it's because the ship "Drains" the power of enemy projectiles, maybe? It's certainly a neat idea, I much prefer Shmups that allow you to take hits vs. the kind you instantly die if you touch anything at all.
The game is nice. However the visual effects piss me off. Why are the weapon effects limited to bathroom blue and lavender? This game would do well with color variety of weapon fire. It really makes the weapons look the same. Theirs no wow factor or luster about em.
