Not the best drake album, but this album was exactly what made drake the goat he is. Superior production, perfectly timed features, and some good bars sprinkled throughout. Not the best singer. But when it comes to making music, Composing an album, cranking out hit after hit, he is almost untouchable. Unless you are micheal jackson or the beatles, your catalog cant touch his. So is his content lacking? At this point in his career sure. So its ok to have a negative opinion. But to say the album was bad is nonsense. It just wasnt for you. But alot of people can look past what he isnt saying in his raps, because they value the production, and the musical diversity drake brings, over his lyrical content.
Drakes music has a tendency to get better over time, this album did that i liked like maybe 4 -5 songs when it dropped now i like pretty much every song.
Looking back at this. Shaq was a hater. He even shitted on Yebba's Heartbreak which objectively is a beautiful record that doesn't even feature Drake. The album is literally called Certified Lover Boy - if anything I expected the entire thing to be R&B.
Bruh Drake's music is a lifestyle, if you haven't been rocking with Drake since "So far gone" then you definitely won't like this album or his music. I enjoy the album because not every damn song has to be trappin and guns and Hella turn up, sometimes it's nice to play something you can just pour a drink or roll up some good and let your mind wonder. Man Shaq when I first starting watching you, your reactions were fire and unbiased. Now they all just a reflection of what’s happening in the industry. I get it’s a reaction but I respected your opinion when you started, now it’s just, entertainment. Drake ain’t even my favorite rapper and this ain’t his best album but he still one of the top dawgs of this generation and once you realize the extent of the ghost writer shits and realize he most likely writes the majority of his shits, especially when hes rapping, not singing, you at that point, at the very least gotta give him an unbiased listen.

I just wanna put something out there to let you all know that yes maybe there are people who didn't like the album and that's ok, but don't hate just because you can. If you don't like a certain type of song then it's probably because it's not your type of music. No big deal, but it doesn't mean you have to hate on it. Plus I actually give Drake credit for trying something new then stay in his comfort zone. This album isn't trash at all, it's different and I like it, maybe y'all should calm down a bit. 15 outta 21 songs for me. I actually like it. Some songs weren't meant to be on there at all. I genuinely think this album was on some r&b rap type shit. It should've stayed that way. Songs like with young thug and future shouldn't be on there to me. It was just out of context.

At first i listened to the album and thought it was mid. mainly cause i was influenced by the Internet. but it grew on me and i listen to this album way more than donda. clb has way more replayability than donda. i loved donda at first but than it got boring.
