Im missing why people are calling it soft/wack. He kept it hip hop over all. He got on a track to lay out the issues. He didn't run to Social Media and cry over some shit. Keeping it hip hop where it should be. Not all over twitter in his feelings on some Meek shit. I personally think this track was a warning shot to Meek and other rappers. Like if they come back with something, he'll spazz out like he did back in 2007 or on 5am in Toronto. Don't know. We'll see.
Bruh I agree 100% with you, the song gets into that singing vibe, and I'm like, since when are you gonna sing to another guy about how much you don't like him lmao
I feel like Drake is being sarcastic, you know, to show he doesn't care or is not phased , why else make a song title Charged Up then spit so leisurely over it, just my take....
Meek Not The Type Of Rapper That You Dig Deep In Your Notebook For. The Track Was Dope Imo And Was Exactly What I'd Thought It Would Be. Ppl Forget He's A Brand Ambassador For An Nba Team And A Spokes Person For A Billion Dollar Company, Why Fuck It Up For Someone Not On Your Level ? Ball Is In Meek's Court Now
I don't get why people saying it was wack and it was soft. I'm not a Drake fan at all, but Drake did what he needed to do, he didn't had to say Meek Mill name directly, not everyone is aggressive in modern day hip hop, so wake up if you ever think a Hit Em Up or Ether is coming back. But it's obvious who Drake was talking about, he got his point across, and delivered a good warning shot. I can say Drake knows how to pick his battles because after the control verse, Drizzy went silent.
TheDavy3 I never said it was a diss. All I said was Drake never responded afterwards, when almost every rapper in the game responded to the statement. #JustSaying.
Devin Palmer i felt like drake doesnt even want to give this fool the time or day. if anything meek owes it drake for calling him out now more people know who he is thanks to drake lol
Geo JAB hell yeah. Don't you find it odd that Meek Mill dates Nicki Minaj only a couplr months after ending a 12 year relationship? Not only that, Meek Mill album sales sky rocket first week when his debut album did nothing, and now all of a sudden you have an issue with not only one of the top three emcees in the game right now, you chose the one who's closest to your girlfriend. It's all pretty odd.
TheDavy3 there are plenty of interviews out there where Drake was offended by it, I can't remember the name of the song but there's a song to where Drake was even sneak dissing, so if you're doing all that, then why not make a track?
Devin Palmer hes doing a pr stunt.. dating nikki boosted his name up if he wants to admit or not but it did. and now going at drake was the same thing. hes busting a kardashian type move. he a simp tho he busted the same shit on whale last year bcuz he didnt tweet his albim out lol what kind of shit is that. and you know meek aint hard like he claims he should just stop. and i felt this was more like a warning track then a actual diss
So basically it's not a diss record, he said a few things but nothing special. Fuck a warning shot, Meek came at him, Drake need to cut the light skin Keith sweat shit out and go Hard in the paint like Hakeem Olajuwon. I'm a fan of both, but if you're gonna make songs just go all out. People acting like this ended Meeks career on Twitter when that's not he case.
For what he working with a nba team? He got his own label to worry about why come with waste time on a bitch like meekiesha whose career will take a hit from this just like gucci mane career did when he went his bitch fit on twitter
***** I mean they both have successful careers and gettin money drake more than meek but drake had to respond to it in some kind of way why not take it to rap and not this Twitter beef bs
Julien Banks true but this wont end good for meek because not only are fans looking at meek like a emotional bitch but so is negus in the industry its kind of like when cassidy was on fire did that song with wayne then dissed wayne for no reason which is why drake should have of kept quiet
Bred To Live Entertainment well with Drake it's about the music to him he don't di interviews he barely tweet it would've been shady for him to not address it at all so instead of going on wit this he says she says shit he might as well make some music out the shit
Y'all know damn well if another regular-ass rapper released this soft ass track responding to a nigga that basically called you a fraud, no one would be hyping this shit up but since it's Drake, niggas is treating this shit like the 2nd coming of Ether. Drake ain't killing no one's career with those passive aggressive subliminal shots.
Yeah it was soft but it was cool tho I think but these days ur career ain't gettin killed by any one verse but I think it was all in good fun u kno these days everything 🔥🔥🔥🔥 or 🚮🚮🚮🚮 on a scale of 1-10 id give it a meek diss will definitely be better cuz meek gotta go in drake like u said could drop anything and he'll still have his fans
I thought it was a dope diss. The Calm Before The Storm...Good to know that Meek didn't "drain him of his energy" and he's still charged up. Meek will respond and drake will drop Views From The 6 with an official diss track on some Takeover-ish. And once Drake goes platinum in 2weeks and they compare Meeks sales to Drakes...the appearance will be that Drake won. Even if bar for bar Meek was better. LLcoolJ did it with Canibus Jayz did it with Nas 50cent did it Ja Rule Dr. Dre did it Eazy E If your album is successful right after or during a beef, it looks like you win! Regardless if the other persons diss song is better. Meek already dropped his album, so he'll have to use a hit single as leverage.
If meek mill fan bAse was white he would be more commercially successful than drake. Meek mill has the most downloaded mixtape on datpiff of all time. Look where his music is getting played by lower class African Americans who download there music instead of paying for it
Nicki Minaj is going to drop this lame soon. He's already been more obsessed with her ex than SHE has (showing his insecurity to her), then you pop off on "Twitter" saying Drake isn't a real rapper by the real hip-hop standards (If that's the case, IMMEDIATELY that exposes Meek, because the greats in hip-hop NEVER handled "Beef" on websites smh), and now he apologizes??!?!?! #RipMeekMillsCareerANDrelationship
Drake literally wrote tht the day before cuz the opening line is about the kids softball charity game he did the day of.(It's a spin on callin Meek a charity case too)
Periametic 1: "omg, I got a pulse!" Periametic 2: "Can you identify the patient" Periametic 1: "His name tag says Mr.Hop" Periametic 2: "Put him in recover, I'll run his name through the system" 1 day later Periametic 1: "Sir, the patient is waking up" Patient: "Wha wha where am I?" Periametic 2: "You are at "Resurrection Hospital. Whats your full name sir? Patient: "My name? My name is Hip... Hip Hop."
In an Interview with the Fader he once said that he doesn't compare with the other rappers. That's what he's trying to show. He doesn't feel the need of writing a real diss because he wins against them anyways.
"snitching without interrogation" is basically saying he's telling on people without knowing anything about it. He's not saying he's legit snitching he's basically saying it's a bullshit claim.
charged up was a warning shot kinda like '' you really wanna do this '' why pull all your cards on the first diss track when meek is gonna come out wit something. only round one
***** but meek the one that started so apparently he don't got nothin better to do if drake can make time meek can make time... And what carter 4 diss the only one I know about was In response to Jay Z's Ham verse
He said "niggas snitchin on us without no interrogation" meaning Meek and everybody raving over the "reference track" haven't even confronted him personally about it to get the facts, instead he stayed silent about it and decided to respond in song form. He's not saying Meek just "exposed" him. It was just a punch that slipped by people, or a lot of people took another way.
DJ Akademiks have you heard the song daylyt put out called UNcharged Up..... It's actually good and HE came at meek on some Grind Time shit...... Dope vids as always.
