I agree with you, you either like it or not depending on what you expected. When I first saw Black coffee (a pretty well known house/techno DJ) as one of the exec producers, I totally thought of getting house vibes in here, and that’s pretty much what they delivered. So, they achieved what they were trying but not what most of people wanted, still taking it for what it is, it’s a good album but not a wanted by people-album

This was strategic. He's at a point in his career where he can afford to branch out and drop a house/dance album. I agree with your assessment, this should be a mixtape and not a studio album. Madvillainy is an example. A tribe called quests albums and outkasts albums aswell. Also yeezus by kanyes West and pretty much all kendrick albums

I’m probably reaching for this one but I’m think drink is on a wave right now with the house and techno shit. Hear me out, it’s summer right now and for the last 2 years we’ve locked indoors cause of COVID. Now what comes every summer?? Yes you said it right festival season!! Now I’m saying that a lot of dj’s who play at music festival play house/techno mixed in with hip hop and rap. It believes me to think that drake would like to be the face of the music festivals even if he’s not there personally with this type of music. Not only that but maybe he’s trying to reach the bag as well with Dj’s playing this all summer cause it works for music festival vibes. So i don’t know but this is my take on it.

Put yourselves on Drake's shoes for a moment: He is so successful because he's always pushing himself further. He is a creative mind. A creative mind doesn't stays in the same place, it's always experimenting, always learning. Of course he knows a Hip Hop/ R&B album would´ve been a banger, probably he even had all those songs in record right now. But the creative Drake, the challenger, the fresh Drake wanted to make what he feels to right now. No what the people want or what will sell. Of course it's not my favorite Drake album but it was expected from someone like him and i admire him more for that.

Drake..and this is my personal opinion...can't compete with dedicated house artist...also...Drake is just so masterful when it comes to rap...that alot of fans wanna hear him rap. House music is a dope vibe for a specific time...I'm not rocking with this project besides Jimmy....but I respect what Drake is doing...and I hope he has success in this lane....
