@@Kal-El207 that’s what drake albums are. You have to look at drake albums like diary entries. These albums reflect where he currently is at that time, with his turn up songs, his introspective songs, relationships with both men and women(mostly women) and each album builds upon those topics as time goes on. You’ll never hear a sing about me I’m dying of thirst because this is his story. His music. He’s not here to tell the story of others, he’s here to tell the story of Drizzy Drake. Not hating on Kendrick imo, but that’s the difference between them. Kendrick will have a story laid out that’s he’s already lived from the beginning of the album and finish it by the end and will teach you his correct answer. Drake doesn’t have an answer for you in most of his albums, because he himself is currently living in that time. Hell teach you what he’s learned and what he’s observed, but it won’t be an absolute clear cut message like Kendrick, but it won’t be expanded upon until next album or project. So Far Gone-His thirst and desperation to reach the top Take Care-His rise to fame and what he’s learned and feeling currently NWTS-A reverse concept of the movie Memento, to currently show us how his life constantly feels the same repeating itself from end to beginning, partying and then reminiscing. IYRTITL-His claim to the throne as the best(arguably but definitely most popular rapper) Views-A reflection of his hometown through the seasons, and it perfectly captures the essence of Toronto even though the beef did effect that album More Life-The after effects of letting what other people say get to him, continued after the hate and reception of views and he starts to move a little colder and out of character(also foreshadows Kanye’s betrayal with others go low we go high as it literally plays glow with Kanye singing right after Scorpion-the after effects of the pusha beef, and the eventual consequence of listening to what his haters say and what other rappers feel about him. He’s still pretty bitter here cause side a is damn near all Kanye diss tracks And alas, after all that and a bit of growing from scorpion), Certifed Lover Boy. A tribute to all the music eras that formed who he is today, and wraps up the final lesson that he has learned throughout the years. To let others say what they say and keep it moving. If you wanna hate, go right ahead. I’m gonna keep doing me because it’s working, even if i won’t get the praise in the moment. It’s easy to look back now and say these albums were classic like Take Care, but even at that time he was considered soft as hell to the point where drake the type of nword jokes came to excistince. Give it time. I’m sure you’ll love the newer projects too. I love all of them personally and love how they’ve changed drake for the better nowadays.
Views deals with much more then just his hometown, it also deals with the struggle of being at the top, an alternate view of IFYTITL. All the tracks reflect this.
I hope people realize this was BEFORE "over my dead body" and Take Care even was in existence , that's what was so cool about this verse on T.V. , it was like a foreshadow to the future.
"I still got 10 years to go huh!" 10 years later he gets award for artist of the decade this dude, but I truly miss this style his cadence and flows were fire
I remember watching this on the floor on New Years Eve. That's exactly what you have to do in the hood on NYE, because once 12:00 a.m. hits, bullets start flying every damn where.
Finally back in Toronto, its better here. I just wanna be anywhere but everywhere. I'm being lazy at the crib kushin it up. I get enough exercise just pushing my luck. Sitting back thinking Damn where did they go. They used to be the one watching Ricky lake show. And now I see them picking up the pieces. One too many starting over speeches. I guess, its back to me like it always ways. Me and the o v o set like it always was. A little money on the counter I left for my girl.
I've met him last week in Paris , wow , such a super nice guy to his fans ! He was already my idol thanks to the incredible artist that he is but now I got too much more respect for him !
I remember sitting there on new years eve with some friends at a party "HOLD THE FUCK UP EVERYONE, DRAKE IS ABOUT TO COME ON LIVE TV" lmao. Dude has one of the greatest bands, well, "HAD" , he's nothing like he used to be live but still love him #1
