Haven't seen it without the ear piece or mic and no other ppl cuz that's when it's hardest and most vulnerable cuz it's all u there's nothing else to blame ya know. Not saying he can't sing but it's honestly mid for how well singers used to sing like Barbara is 1 example off the dome that's far better& in another league above his level but for a rapper I Guess he's the best singer IDK he can't really rap Even with ghost writers lol IDK it's always been weird for me to watch the nerd of Degrassi try to act like they're a hard rapper now lol that's how I know they all gay and they all like Diddy all but maybe 50 cent lol and Kanye seem the least fruity of them all 😆
@@JafarJama you never heard of a click track metronome the lyrics and the mic can be programmed to do auto tune and pitch correct so all I'm saying is I wanna see him do it accopella like the old ACTUAL greats all did. All this guy's really good at is singing not rapping I been trying to tell ppl this since before he even blew up I was like why y'all sweating on the nerd from Degrassi lol IDK we grew up making fun of the kids that use to watch that so watching it become the next 'most gangster. Bada55 guy"okay LMAO 🤣 I can't ever take dude seriously. Plus they all Diddy was no anomaly they're all like that
@@brilliantthebunds6108 you clearly don't understand what autotune is and also didn't watch the video. If you can't sing autotune can't make you sing!!!
He has a subtle voice that just works for him. He's influenced by a lot of 90's R&B which used a lot of simplicity. Plus, he makes singing look so fun.
Very subtle voice, for some reason the RNB veterans hate him, don't consider him to be in the same pedestal, but from my point of view he is up there with the Keith Sweats 💯
90's? Most 90's artist have an extensive vocal range and a lot of the popular artist from the 90's sung challenging songs, I would say vocal simplicity started late 2000's and so on up until now. The reason why vocals from the 90's sound simple because the artist from that time made it sound simple to sing, 80's & 90's were when you had to have talent to sell, you had to prove yourself and you had to know how to sing your songs live unlike today.
Yeah I’m seeing lots of similarities with J Lo… can sing better than the average Joe on the street, but compared to actual R&B artists like Usher, D’Angelo, Chris Brown, John Legend… he can’t hang. Not even close.
His vocals primarily focuses on rapping, he's flat at some notes but he has improved. Not on the level most Rnb singers in that said genre but he can reach certain notes, great job to Drake .
Agree 100% He's not a top singer like Chris Brown, Justin, The Weeknd or Bruno Mars But he's by far the best "rapper singer" with a smooth and angelical voice
Thanks for the honesty. I see a lot of generous comments and I'm like huh?! I never became a fan because I'm a few years older than him. I'm very accustomed to amazing R&B vocals and I'm like this dude singing flat?! And everyone keeps comparing him to The Weekend who clearly does amazing vibrato. I honestly appreciate you keeping it real. 👍🏼
Dangg his singing improved nd it sounds good tho. He used to rely on autotune, people shouldnt care when artists use it in the studio, cuz almost every mainstream artist uses it nowadays, even when u dont notice the autotune.
@@theprinceofeverything1975 His best R&B songs would be After dark , Brand New , Nothing into something . They are mad underrated . Don’t matter to Me is underrated asf too
His voice is so quiet and soft. I can barely hear him; I wouldn’t be able to hear what he is saying at all if the audience was singing along. Sorry guys, he’s a studio singer through and through-he’s not meant to be a serious live act.
There’s no need for a vocalist to work on vocal projection in the modern era, what you’re complaining about is an audio tech issue, if his voice is quiet when he sings then all they need to do is turn the gain on his mic up
@@lolosmith8446 you know that she's a classically trained singer that did theatre right? The girl literally went to LaGuardia lmfao. Her mom is literally a gospel singer too ☠
Billionaire30 XYZ he did that on scorpion bro. It was a 2 album put into just one high volume album, side a was hiphop/rap and side b was 13 tracks of R&b.
I'm not an expert or huge fan of most of today's rap. But I'm pretty sure a rule of thumb for rappers is if you can rap, you gotta know how to sing too. I can't speak for Drake or other rappers because that's not my field. I'm only saying I'm pretty sure that's a rule of thumb. Again, not really sure
That's not even close to being true. Not every rapper has the voice/range to sing. They are rappers not pop stars. Drake just happens to be one that can sing aswell which is a big part of why he appeals to a wide variety of people
Okay. I'm sorry for asking. I did mention that I'm no expert or fan of today's rap. It was just an assumption. I also mentioned that I can't speak for him or other rappers. Anyway, I apologize for asking about it.
Yeah. That's one thing I never got with today's music. I feel like a lot of it uses auto-tune, which I feel is just a lazy way of saying they can't sing. That's why I prefer artists who can actually sing really good, like Adele, and don't have to use auto-tune. I know I sound like an old man when saying that, but that's jut always bugged me
Trust me you are not alone on thinking that way my friend. Lot of mainstream music is lacking substance these days. Doesn't make you sound old at all, more like intelligent. Keep that mindset. Too many people following a trends to be famous.
He is using an auto tune machine that will slightly fix his pitch. It’s is not as obvious as your typical t-pain or future auto tune but I have seen many singers use it live. I like his music but I know damn well he’s very pitchy live. Listen to one dance live on jimmy Kimmel, they don’t let him use it (the machine) there so that him “really” live
XDranzer000 I’m sorry bro but you can have all the breath support and the best full rounded projection you want but if there your off key you will not sound good PERIOD. I know many people who have amazing voices but have no ear. Pitch and tempo(timing) are ESSENTIAL and crucial for singers
you don't get to decide what he is. If he wants to show off his singing skills because he worked so hard to improve them, then show some respect of him doing it.
Bro these die hard fans 😂 they won’t ever admit it lol I said that shit too and I got attacked by the flock. I’m a singer, I heard that shit immediately. Credit to where credit is due, that’s straight up cheating, if you can’t sing the song you recorded in the studio live gto why record the shit at all when you have to use these cheating ass tactics to sing it live. This shit is cheating and here and anywhere PERIOD. Real singers don’t use pitch correctors
@@6godbreeezyy Stop!!! 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ I love Both artist but let’s not disrespect breezy when it comes to singing. He’s an actual Vocalist and Drakes a Rap Artist. Both Modern GOATS in their own lanes.
@@drewusalem I will say this yes Chris brown has a higher vocal range like for example no guidance his high pitch vocals ruin it for me as for drake sings at a low range making it sound much better for me at least if that make sense.
@@6godbreeezyy in what world is having a smaller vocal range "better"? especially when the person with the smaller vocal range can't even sing as well as the high vocal range person. That's like saying you like Drake over the Weeknd because drake has a smaller range and is a less-experienced singer...
@@search2077 you right I was pretty down bad when I made those comments but in my personal opinion Whther it’s a horrible take drake can sing prolly not do better then Chris brown but for a rapper he has improved a lot
He may be rich and famous but his singing ability will never equal the likes of David Ruffin, Sam Cooke , Marvin Gaye and others from the era. Those men could sing and are still admired and its been 50 + years. Its sad how the quality of singers are less then before and the incomes exceed what the great singers never obtained. But its business not quality or the message. No great messages here. Keep buying. JB
Guy can’t hold tune, couple words at a time, then stops, if he goes above that amateur vocal trust me it will crack. Go back to auto tune and lip sync like you do best..
I just don’t think he really lives up to those other artists in rap or conventional singing who are born with a gift, and people perceive him as something he’s really not, Aubrey Graham is a wanna be, and got lucky, take away all the accolades, $$, and everything else, if he showed up for a audition at a America’s got talent, or American idol and rapped or sang a song acapella, how far do you think he would get? I mean really. He’s a visual for teenagers, and thats the sad part. Made up talent.
Jason Vo A record company can do amazing things for an artist who can’t sing or talk rap, and make them something they really not, they do it all the time for $$$, kids are visual, bright lights, and be completely blind to the actual truth, sure he been at it 10 years, good for him lots of $$$, but far from a truely musical artist.
@@jackj3542 MUSICAL talent is much more important than VOCAL talent. You can have a voice like Adele but with no substance behind it, it's just another good singer. Drake is the most talented, he worked at it and that's why he's STILL at the top, have a nice day.
