The repairs are well underway on my R. L. Drake TR-3 transceiver. In fact, they are nearly complete. One big challenge remains though: the transmit receive relay.

What a great video and I will keep it in mind as I have a TR3 and I will one day need to restore it. It is normally a shelf queen. really appreciate you doing this as I have forgotten much about it and now need to rethink this whole thing. thanks Mike

On the stock PCB, I’ve dealt with a lot of them, and all you need to do is burnish the rivets with a glass-fiber or brass-brush and solder them. Without looking at the schematic, the tube voltage regulators are usual reserved for just oscillators and critical circuits; you want to avoid putting unnecessary extra circuits (like screens) that may not need that tight of regulation, and which will require a greater standing current going through the regulator tube to accommodate them and still provide proper regulation. Otherwise, I think you did a good job and agree with your replacement decisions. 73… 😊

I had thought of SpinStar's suggestion to just solder the rivets. However, I do give you props for creating a new board in KiCad and having it manufactured. I know the amount of work involved in that process. I have no idea, as to the better of the two solutions, and I would not speculate about that. I just wanted to give kudos, for the KiCad efforts. Cheers.
