they only use them so people way in the back can easily hear the songs, same with singers. I went to a kendrick lamar show in 2012 and I was nearly all the way in the back, and he was using a backtrack and I could only hear the backtrack, I could only very faintly hear him rapping. again, same with singers etc.
Who cares though? Its not like he's not rapping, we clearly see and hear him. But on the other hand, I guess I can see where you coming from thought. It takes away from the whole "live" aspect.

Rappers need to perform in small venues where they dont need to scream and change their tone. Hes just rapping on top of his track here. Its like lip syncing almost. If they performed in a small venue and everyone shut up you could hear rap artists actually perform their song instead of trying to scream over the crowd. But of course you have to sell tickets to big arenas and the sound quality is always crap in those places. just sucks.
