I'm loving the Drakengard music remixes you're doing, I remember picking this up because Tara Platt voices Zero and just fell in love with the game. I just hope they make a remake or a port to PC because I remember it having some frame issues. Keep up the good work.
Nier is like, the sister series to Drakengard. It takes place in the same universe but has it's own plot and characters. Nier Automata is the upcoming sequel so idk if it's good yet but I've literally never been more hyped for a game in my life and it looks amazing. Nier is an amazing game with super good music and excellent writing and characters and if you like Drakengard 3 you will probably like it too.
They're actually not in the same universe at all Emily, that's actually one of the main factors of Nier: that the catastrophic horrors of Drakengard's Universe bled into our own and brought the ruin of mankind with it. They're connected of course, it goes 3, 1, nier, and nier automata (Taro had nothing to do with 2, has shown great dislike for it, mainly due to how traditional it was, and doesnt really consider it canon; despite the multiple timelines theme of the series making it possible to really make anything and everything canon if desired). . As for the framerate issues Du Lac, that's because Taro had to get Access Games to do the framework for Drakengard 3 because he was still reestablishing his team members after Cavia disbanded. He got help from the same group who did Deadly Premonition so...yeah, that's a big part of why the framerate was so pisspoor. Nothing to do with hardware power, it's just so shoddily optimized that a high end compute would likely still have issues with framerate and pixel loading. wouldnt be the first pc port that's not any better at that stuff, as the initial optimization of the game data itself plays as big a part as the strength of your machine with stuff like this.
