elo zone I just started this game and the frame rate, and the amount and level of screen tearing is insane. Definitely needs a remaster to clean all of that up, AND a resolution bump so it doesn’t look so pixelated.
If this game sells well... There'll be more game like this in the future. *sigh* I can only hope. Drakengard, take me somewhere new. Take me somewhere I've never gone before.
Drakengard was one of the coolest games back in the day! Especially number one, =D the fact that you could switch from dragon, to person was so cool, the different weapons and abilities from the weapons, it was a serious game where you'd want to replay just to unlock special weapons. It's an amazing game series, if you're interested i highly recommend playing from the start to work your way to number three when it's released!

This is literally the best gaming news I heard in years. A localisation of Drakengard 3. This is really the closest thing we get to NieR, a flawed masterpiece with its own identity and quite possible the best game Square Enix has put out this generation.
The Drakengard series, the Final Fantasy series, and Legend of Dragoon made up my childhood gaming experience for the most part. Thank you Square for finally bringing this series back for those of us who loved it.
This is seriously going to be so good. I can't wait. There's also rumor that they're considering giving the main character Caim's sword, which I totally hope happens.

The Drakengard series is like this, when you make a pact with the dragon, you lose something in return. In the first game, the protagonist lost his voice and has that has a marked on his tongue. The series is famed for its unrestrained take on multilayered, surreal dark fantasy.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the prequel to the stories in 1 and 2 (so the story order would be 3, 1, and 2). Which means you can play through this, then check out the other games!
For anyone wondering, Drakengard 3 is a prequel, so you can jump into it without playing the Drakengard, Drakengard 2 or Nier! Drakengard and Drakengard 2 are pretty rough around the edges, if you do feel inclined to play them.
Jesus, it's been a while since I have played drakengard. I still own the first one and din't eve know there was a second one. Playstation should really bring back some forgotten games, something like destroy all humans.

Makes more sense to me since it's direct translation rather than contextual. I don't mind it though, perhaps that's how they wanted it to be received anyway. I will look for the other 2 installments since this one caught my interest. Also, for those who don't know, there is an actual gameplay trailer, rather than just cinema, floating out there, or SE JP site.
It is about the gods. The first game was to protect the goddess seal. This kept the world in check. The second is about the role of the seal and the fear of the gods. The third, is about the gods again. Before the goddess seal. The gods had dominion over man.
Nice!!! Been waiting for a sequel. I hope some characters from Drakengard 1 and 2 will make a comeback. Like Eris at least. So far, the trailer looks like it's showing all the bosses that you need to kill in the story.
The first two game are connected and end an arc. I have a feeling that this will be completely separate just, maybe, in the same universe. They are good games. Think Dynasty Warriors with dragons and an actual effort put into the story.
Finaly Some Thing Good on Ps3!.Drakengard 1-2 is one of my favorite games ever on ps2.Gameplay is wicked sick, if no one has played before then give a shot.
Drakengard and Drakengard 2 were some of the best hack-n-slash games ever made. I'm not even a fan of the genre, but Drakengard 2 was just amazingly done, and very very fun.
Thanks for the reply. Usually gameplay doesn't really matter THAT much to me but only if the story is amazing with twist and pretty cool dialogue, with that saying is the drakengard series known for this? if not what is it known for?
This story is a prequel to the first two. I was hoping to see Manah again (she's my most fave from the second game). Maybe by the end of the game it'll go into Caim's parents story (I'm hoping for a cliffhanger like that) And then they'll have to make a drakengard 4 ^_^ (wishful hoping).
Yep...that why Jrpgs have been plunging in value in recent years. They're not going to be around very much longer at this point. I give them maybe a decade if they don't start rethinking what they're doing.
It is. It's a high, dark fantasy that pulls no restraints in tackling taboo themes. Unconventional approach to RPG and certainly worth at least playing once.
Not necessarily. It doesn't have to translate only to "what". In the context they were using you could translate it to "Yeah?". It sounds more natural in english that way.
l did not know that but it would not surprise me cause l felt that Drakengard 2 had a very different feeling to it then the first game did you can also feel the pattern from Drakengard 1 in Nier so that these two games have the same director makes perfect sense :)
My second all-time favorite series! Almost tied with my first, which is FFX! Can't believe it will be localized! I'm getting the 10-year anniversary edition imported in December! I wonder why One looks so much like Manah and Seere... THE WATCHERS!
Luckily I don't think you need to.. However from the mini manga they made for this game and other back stories that they have been releasing lately.. They REALLY relate to the first game. So you may be confused as to why certain things are happening. But I'm sure they'll explain everything you need to know within the story itself for this one. Since this story happens before any of the other historic events happen.
