This was brilliant! I was looking for a comparison with the original and the new version of Drakkar. I really love the original Drakkar but I appreciate that it has been copied so much over it's life that many, many cheap drugstore deodorants can have the DNA of the original. I have always thought it to be a nice, outdoorsy manly scent and reminds me of an old gym bag. While Azzaro is not the same as Rive Gauche I do understand when people describe Rive Gauche as a more rounded Azzaro and I think that concept might be applicable here too. I wore Drakkar when I was young. I liked it, but if I remember correctly there was something in it that kind of irritated me. I haven’t smelled it since, so I don’t know if it was reformulated and more tolerable now. It was popular back then though.

All the modern scents are getting sweeter. I would imagine that at some point the scents for the youth will come full circle and be like the scents of the early 20th century. And we old people will smell sweet like the old bags of the future will smell to the kids. Imagine that. In the future someone will smell Ultra Male and think it smells like a grandpa 🤣.
