The financial bill has been in existence since independence, yes . However, the protesters are complaining about this specific one that raised taxes on everything, including bread, diapers, etc, as mentioned. Too high increases on the poor salaries while some are earning nothing. Africa has been paying loans of IMF and World Bank over decades since the independence of their respective countries. Why not default and struggle from your own resources. Thats self reliance and ask people to come together and build their country? .
