Say a prayer for the retail players tonight … they’d rather play recycled shadowlands content then recycled wrath content. They are down horrendous. Just think about that…. WHO WOULD EVER WANT TO PLAY SHADOWLANDS A SECOND OVER ARGUABLY THE BEST WOW XPAC EVER RELEASED …. Cmon man. On sep 26th The best wow expansion to ever be released is re releasing. WOTLK HYPE WOTLK HYPE FateDeezeNutsonYoFace Retail players
@@sheesh3214 Quite the tribalist, aren't we? I'm just bored with WoW. I'd rather play Vampire Survivors or Hearthstone Mercenaries than pay Blizzard for 15 year old content, or the bad shit they are putting out recently. Glad you enjoy WOTLKC though. It's a great expansion, wish I had a bigger classic-oriented friendgroup, I'd join back in, too, I guess.
Dunno if this was mentioned already but, one thing that became common sense only like a year or so into playing this game is that if you are at a dungeon and coming up at a boss, best to just respawn naturally and catch up if you die as accepting a rez from a healer will give you that dmg debuff for a minute.
This was me when I first started except I didn't even know how to select any party members, I only knew how to tab between enemies so my first satasha run the tank died 3 times to mobs before the party asked what was up. They helped me figure out how to play my cnj in a dungeon...lol. although that run I was so scared of failing to heal the tank again that I never deselected him once I had him selected....lol
Helping People is a risk, unfortunately, it rarely works, for all your advice, it is rarely more effective for your party or mental health than just "Leave Dungeon". If you leave, you silently let the party know that this is terrible and you give the other players an opportunity to leave without penalty. Leaving is a gift.
As a long time tank since HW and a savage tank, 99% of the pullers are just trying to be obnoxious. If I’m wall pulling and sprinting after the first pack, believe it or not, you staying out of combat so you can Pelo up to hit the mob right before I get there isn’t helping. It’s just you being an asshole, so you can pretend you’re edgy bored from the “slow” pace. It definitely isn’t helping a new tank. Tanking in normal content for FF14 is as easy as tanking could be, especially compared to other games. Yet there are so few tanks because people are afraid of running into you. Tank anxiety is all over the place, and it’s amazing because you’ll hardly find an easier game to tank. Yet all it takes is one asshole running out the gate to pretend that o7 was taking too long, and they’re gone, back to grinding Prae with stance off like a DPS. The truth is that the tank sets the speed for the run. SE has implicitly proved this by front loading the threat from HoTs so the tank, pulling, doesn’t have the mob diaspora from a Benefic tick. You aren’t impressing anyone, or helping queue times, by bullying new tanks trying to get their feet.
Because I'm a nerd, I will point out that first one, clearly the tank had a tiny idea of what they were doing. The author obviously didn't notice, but Dzmael Darkhold has a lot of crystal based mechanics beyond the one that blows up and kills you. The first boss isn't a tank and spank, and the tank wasn't just running around randomly. You need to tank the first boss in the light of the Crystal or he's immune and does a nasty pulse of aoe. So the tank had some idea. Just not as much as you would hope. I do view that one as one of the less face roll dungeons early on.
To Mike and the Team, thank you for the amazing years of content! Specifically Drama Time that I’ve binged in 2 months….. You all are amazing! Best to each and every one of you on the new road ahead and I’m excited to see where the new adventures lead!
Honestly the Dzemael run can definitely get weirdly spicy for newer players. That stuff is why I main a healer, because I can actually hard carry through sub par dungeon runs to a point.
I've been in this very situation MANY times, and I've done all the things available to me in those moments(not all at once of course lmao) via Leave the Dungeon, Try to Help, BLOW UP, Say Nothing & Move On, and LAUGH at the idiocy bad players bring to the dungeon/trial experience. Never have I been banned for Suggesting Tips & Blowing Up, or even gotten a warning for that matter. People act like ya do it one time, the "GM that's constantly watching your Player Experience" will insta ban ya, which is not the case at all. Believe it or not, the GM's do some research themselves before doing anything IF THE SITUATION IS REPORTED, and I can tell you with experience most of the time the GM's laugh at those moments, and don't do anything to ya SO LONG AS IT'S WARRENTED and it shows with-in the investigation done by the GM. Back to Topic, believe it or not, People 7/10 times do listen and at least try your suggestion/tip out even without asking: "Can I make a suggestion?" Just make the suggestion, but word it like: "The last time I was in here X did this and it worked out perfectly. We can try out the way we're going at it again to make sure, but I feel this other way will help us out get through this easier & faster." or word it in any way that can't be taken in a bad way, especially when a GM goes to investigate IF you're reported. When it comes to a situation where it appears the entire party is bad; or at least half of them are braindead(which is the case most of the time tbh), honestly your best course of action leads down three paths: Leave Dungeon, Try to Help(Because God Forbid just suffering through it without saying ANYTHING), or Blow Up on them. I'd of blown up especially seeing how A: "The Healer is being a Know-it-all when clearly they don't know how to play their job/role/the game in general," B: "You Pull It, You Tank It" is THE DUMBEST THING Modern MMORPG players say. Now I'ma sound old but: "Back in my day, the Ranged/DPS PULLED THE MOB TO THE TANK" Imagine that. Which using that old method works WONDERS, even nowadays. Sure we go into: "But what if the player is new to tan------blah, blah, blah" Maybe they should play with Trusts in the lower levels, or PotD, or HoH until they're comfy with the job/role. Quit Wasting other Players Subs They Paid For because of your incompetence/ignorance to your Job's Role. Tl;dr: I'm tired of XIV being so much of a pansy when it comes to assistance/help; or in every aspect in-general. The Majority of Players in XIV are Adults, grow tf up, it's a game. Edit: Story 2 I was not expecting THAT, I couldn't stop saying: WTF xD
The last story about a noob player resonates so much with me. Despite all the ferals and afflocks raging about the rotation being rather hard, it actually was (and is) easy as a mage despite pulling much more dps in almost all patches that ever existed in WoW. And when a newbie player meets rank 1 while doing fuck all, that's when the conceit and hubris are born (AKA when you're too shit to know you're shit). I wish some of the brilliant minds behind weakauras or similar addons create a shit-o-meter addon mandatory for everyone that would check if you're putting the effort into not only doing your job but also using utility when appropriate - and provide feedback on how to improve.
Arnt you supposed to the eye boss around the room depending on the rocks lighting up? If they are killing things slow they would take a while and multiple times moving the boss too the glowing stones
I can't really know for sure, but yes this dungeon can be confusing to sprouts. The first trash yes, keep the trash next to the crystals so the boss doesn't do its aoe bursts. Same with the boss fight itself. But after that, crystals are suddenly exploding pools of ouch.
to be fair, author of the first story is kinda guilty himself. Eyeboss has to be pulled across the arena or he will be immune, Orange crystals that explode on the pull after the second boss HAVE to be stood in as they have lock mechanisms for the following door. Ressing Dps between pulls is a waste because of weakness (although they shouldnt have waited for him).Stopping to do your job because you dont like your party members is imo guilty af. Party is guilty of YPYT though
"You pull, you tank" is the "I don't heal pets" of 2022. Only smug assholes say dumb stuff like that and god I wish they would stop playing multiplayer games with nonsensical toxic gameplay attitudes.
I have yet to figure out WoW players obsession with the Gold Saucer. I can see initially but I would think the appeal would die off quickly, but for some reason I hear of many who still go there regularly for hours, idgi. Also surprised people did DKP bidding, in vanilla WoW we just did flat pricing based on gear and whoever had the most won it, however our guild mostly prioritized gear so we already knew who get what based on who needed it, so really didn't even need the system. Bidding is just asking for collusion.
Ive had a group like that before in story 3 along with a tank saying the you pull you tank even though i apologized before he said it. Fortunately I was well geared and could tank everything up to the boss with the other healer and dps backing me up. I wish I had vote kicked the tank looking back on it a sadly
I've been in many dungeon runs similar to that Nin sprout since 2.0 released, and I've found that the best thing I can do is tell the tank to aoe or leave when that fails. Usually tanks are reticent to this advice because I think 90% of the tanks in this game got this advice in sastasha. If I were the nin tho and was too afraid to give advice at all, yeah fucking leave and go do literally anything else
Been so long since I played WoW but man preach and drama time will always be a staple! now I blow my money on genshin impact and making youtube videos XD
dude, in darkhold you don't pull wall to wall! especially not with new players! Seen sooo many wipes because of overconfident tanks who didn't know about the safety chrystals or the grabbing toads who can also push you off of ledges! I'd soo much rather have a slow tank in Darkhold than a glorious idiot who rushes ahead and gets everyone killed.
You absolutely pull wall to wall before the 1st boss, though. The crystal mitigation field is no joke. No reason not to pull everything there. Well, assuming the dungeon wasn't changed during the recent round of reworks.
Preach, i know this might be weird to say, but your hair is looking a lot better after you left wow. No joke or anything, but was watching some last year videos, and the difference is immense!
He did have a hair transplant procedure a while before he stopped playing WoW and it takes a while for proper growth to take effect, so that's probably what you're seeing. I don't think there's a correlation.
I love how the NA servers always has horror stories as opposed to the JP servers. It's like these people have 0 courtesy to pull their weight in a group, but expect others to conform to their whims like a spoiled entitled brat.
@@ich3730 that’s true, but it’s not as “out and about” compared to the English community because of how important social etiquette is over here. I do have a few JP players in my FC, and we never had any issues with each other and the FC is always very happy to see them online because it means we can use them to practice our Japanese, while they get to practice their English on us. The cultural difference over here compared to NA is real though, very huge difference when I created a character at Gilgamesh just to see how it is over there.
First story just sounds like they all are still learning and just don't really know how to play the game yet lol. I don't think Author is toxic or anything lol but they also clearly don't know how the first boss works because you're MEANT to bring the All-Seeing Eye around the room to make him vulnerable to damage and thinks the line AOE from Batraal is a one-shot (it doesn't even hurt that much). I was gonna try to cut "Daemavand" some slack because healing a shitty tank can be rough but that comment at the end just makes me think they're kinda shit. Though I will say it can be hard to find time to heal DPS when the tank isn't popping CDs which I can almost guarantee is what happened here. No, Author should not have tried mentoring because they don't seem to know what they're talking about but they're also not toxic lol. Just a shit dungeon, it happens.
After Cataclysm, I was going to legit throw in the towel of this game. What got me so far was by watching the details of the game leading up between you, Asmongold, Bellular, and HeelvsBabyface. The final detail that gets me to continue as well is your view more specifically though since you are on the fence with your discussions. Giving a detailed and unbiased point of view gives nothing but a clear understanding of what to decide on. So yeah, about this "are you toxic" thing, tell them to save their pity for the weak. I am happy btw that you were able to get into contact with Ian about the state of WoW and the company. I truly quit after finding out about the harassment bullshit behind the scenes. But since they are taking "measures" to bounce back, I was back to looking at what they have planned until I figured out the video of you saying that they banned you from the beta. I was back to "fuck this shit I'm out" until it got cleared up again. At least they are getting a hang of damage control, just need to advance their capabilities more.
27:55 Kyting? The eyeball boss? What. A. Mess. It's only vulnerable in fixed spots on the floor. Moving him makes him invulnerable! Nightmare situation.
you realize how toxic the roulette dungeons are, when the tank has to aggro all the dungeon packs as fast and the healer should not heal. If you fail you are kicked.
In BC I didn't learn rez on my pally as I hated people being lazy and not running back. They would ask for a rez and I would say sorry I am too poor and couldn't afford the spell lol.
*tank in story pulls 1 pack at a time* "omg lul, kill me" *tank in his WoW group during alpha stream pulls 2 packs* "/sigh oh boy, were speed running this I guess"
Trash in FF14 dungeons is incredibly weak and have practically 0 mechanics. There really is no risk at all for any non brain dead group in pulling more than one pack at a time
He'd have the same for a macro keyboard. If you're reliant on the non-standard functions and you lose access to them. The point is learn without them, too
Considering most people are replacing a standard piece of hardware with the specialized one, yes, chances are there will be a standard one laying around until one can get to the store or have it delivered
You shouldn't let them die and ignore just due to that though. Whether or not the DPS / healer intentionally pulled mobs, as long as they're bringing it towards the tank, it's like one button push to aoe aggro them. EZ adjust On the other hand, it's their own fault if they pull AND run away from tank. That's just suicide
All too often I see hypocritical degenerate behavior from females who will also at the drop of a hat take offense to something minor and create huge amounts of guild drama.
