I had to call Blizzard support twice because my account was hacked and they were far and away some of the most helpful customer support I ever talked to. Even ticket support weren't bad back then. I'm guessing now most of it is automated and awful. This was before the Activision merger and them firing a ton of people.
Even well after the merger in WotLK they always had great customer support. They were nice, if it was an in game ticket they would roleplay inside the game as part of the universe (Which doesn't help much in solving the goal, but it was a nice flair). It wasn't until they fired damn near most of the support during BFA I think that support became trash. One of my Co-Workers had a friend who was a support manager and when she got fired that was the end of good Blizz support (At least in Wow).
i helped a friend with blizz support when his account got hacked, it was an interesting situation because he is chinese and recently moved here in brazil, his portuguesse was kinda broken but the main issue was he does not know how to speak english at all and there was no customer support in portuguesse at the time (Wrath) so he asks for my help since i can speak the language so there i was talking to the support, doing my best to understand the broken portuguesse he is speaking while also translating it to english hehehe the support guy was patient and noted that it was quite the unique situation hehe
I'm from Ireland and I seriously don't know pretty much anyone in my town. 😂 But I can confirm, a loooot of Irish people "think" they know each other or *ask* if you're related to someone. To be fair, my great grandparents had 13 kids and each kid had a family sooo.... They're out there... Somewhere 👀
For anyone working in IT support, and having to deal with a customer who wants to know why something crashed, and it cannot be found, just give 'em the good old "cosmic ray bitflip". It's the perfect excuse and they cannot prove you're bullshitting because it's supported by science and they'll find a bunch of NASA articles when they google it and be like holy shit I just spoke to a freaking tech genius astronaut
The guided games system is indeed a failure, but Sherpas really are a huge thing in Destiny raiding. Where I live is fairly low population, so its one of the worst setups for finding groups, but even I was able to find a good quality Sherpa really easily and had a fantastic experience every time I've raided with the guy. He was kind, understanding, explained mechanics and assigned roles to players.
Wasn't the "show LUA errors" a thing still, back in WoTLK ? I'm fairly certain the dude could have just switched a interface option, to avoid that problem all together, bit of a odd part to said story tbh. Din't make the rest any less funny though :P
People in chat lost their shit at the mention of Finland being small. Obviously these people didn't pay attention in geography class. Finland is third of the size of Egypt, it just looks big on the world map because it's far away from the equator and those maps, for all their virtues, are really geographically inaccurate.
When I started WoW at 14 I don't think I knew what a graphics was either. Why would you if it's the early 2000s and your first PC game that needs some kind of minimum system requirement.
I'm cool with a visual guide but I'm deaf so id all there is is audio explanation then that kinda defeats the purpose. Most people that make guides don't actually consider that.
