It's so EXCITING to finally see a dramatic change when we spray paint the Salon with Mylands stunning Bond Street paint. It was a risk going this dark in the room, but it's a big space and we were sure it could take it!
The room was missing something, and we felt it needed a bit more architectural interest given its size so we installed some new wall panelling, and the room began to transform and take on a new elegance. We wanted an opulence that punched you in the face, and think we got it! :) But we also get up to so much more in this vlog....
We strip the HUGE double doors that lead onto the Orangery which was a really tough job made much easier and safer with KlingStrip given to us by Strippers Paint Removers (see info below).
Finally we finish the much laboured over Parquet floor with Mylands Light Oak Stain and Matt Satin Varnish which gives the room an incredible finished result. This was all completed around visits from various family members. First Jolyon's Mum, Sister, her partner and Nephew visited for the King's Coronation, then Jolyon's brother Max and his wife Georgia visit and help with some jobs outside the Château before they leave on a world tour.

The end goal is to have a beautiful venue available for big groups to hire, or the perfect location for a wedding! We are big believers in bold maximilist design, which fits with the Chateau's Belle Époque era.
