Coast Guard Helicopter rescue in the middle of the ocean from Carnival Sensation Ship. One of the passenger had a medical emergency and had to get air lifted to Hospital. Great job Coast Guard !!
This video is very heartbreaking since it was my husband that was taken off the ship that was one of the worse days of my life he died less than one month later the coast guard and crew of sensation were amazing and did everything they could to comfort me and my 2 young boys we had to stay on the ship until the next day when we arrived in port canveral where we were picked up by family and driven to west palm where my husband was taken to st Mary's hospital we had gone on this weekend cruise to celebrate my husbands 57th birthday which at the time never dreamed it would be his last one...
Very sorry for your loss, we just got off the dream and we witnessed a similar incident last night hopefully the victim was okay and was able to return to their families. I will be praying for you and your boys.
Thanks for the kind words. I wasn't on this flight, but I am a Coast Guard Flight Mechanic and I'll try to let the aircrew that was on this case know you posted this. I'm sure they would love to see it.
+tjsean0308 Thanks for all you and all the U.S. Coast Guard do. My cousin who is a commercial fisherman in Montauk, NY fell off his boat while working in the middle of the night July 2013. He kept himself alive by floating on his rubber boots. So many looked for him. Right be the Jayhawk was going to hit their bingo fuel and be forced to turn around back to Rhode Island, they spotted Johnny alive but dehydrated and in good spirits despite floating 12 hours in the Atlantic Ocean 45 miles from shore. You guys and girls rock!
My step son is AST 2 Vucetich and they do these types of rescues routinely all the time. I have worked on cruise ships for 10 years and have seen this in person as well as being under the helos while serving with the USGC Aux in NC. The training is first rate!
finally!!! a Coast Guard medevac video without the stupid background music! on a different note....from an Army Veteran, MUCH MUCH respect to my Brothers and Sisters called to serve in the Coast Guard.
I did a cruise ship hoist similar to this 120+ miles north of Puerto Rico back in the 1990's. We hoisted up a patient who needed medical attention and brought him back to PR. We had a second CG aircraft fly cover for us if something went wrong. Seen alot of camera flashes and hand-waving during the hoist.
