Yeah. I understand what she did was illegal but she was just trying to help herself feel a little better. As someone who lives with pain 24/7 I can sort of understand why she thought she was not doing anything too bad.nor condoning it but I also understand how chronic pain or illness can sometimes leave you feeling a little desperate
I can relate ..only 88 pounds at 58 yrs old. Got sick over summer with 2 serious cases of pneumonia and couldn't keep any food down or water then got enteritis of the bowels and that near killed. Was 98 pounds and with all these illnesses I lost 10 pounds ..and have already been diagnosed with anorexia 2 yrs ago ..and had ot in high school too ..have had 3 healthy average birth weight kids naturally , no medicine at all ...and Dr's thought my kids would be born early and of low birth weight but that was the opposite. 2 of my babies were late by a week and my middle kid was born on her due date by 21 minutes ...and all were at least 7 pounds! I hope this pretty young girl gets healthy too..no one should have to deal with an eating disease..it sucks
@@denisedarnell1641 warmest wishes from Queensland Australia. I truly hope your health improves my friend. My wife worked as a chef in a home for young ladies with eating disorders. She said it was very fulfilling work but on a few occasions very heartbreaking. She makes delicious food but used to load it with high fat everything telling the ladies it was all low or no fat. They loved her and she loved them and whilst she didn't like lying to them, she told them a few fibs to try to get them up to a healthy weight. She gives big warm hugs and often hugged the girls and told them how special they truly were. One of the many things I love about my missus is her kindness and support towards others. I understand yours is more medical and having had a few stomach issues myself over the years,I truly get the lack of appetite or the really not wanting to eat anything due to feeling sick. Please try to though. I don't want to overstep the mark but when I lost a heap of weight whilst overseas in the tropics I found roasted sweet potato and other starchy foods helped me put some weight on fast and I felt a lot more energetic. Please don't take offence as I wish you only the best. Kind regards,Matt
That's one of the rare common diseases that people have that is actually more likely to be fatal than depression. My niece was 29 when she dropped d**d of anorexia out of the blue, right in our kitchen, but lucky for her my mom was a trained CPR instructor and brought her back. Now she's 32 and she didn't learn a dang thing. She's gonna be a total Karen Carpenter, if you are familiar with that singer who ironically d** at 32.
Sgt. Gorton is one of those people that would be good at any job that involves people. I bet she's a favorite in her family community and workplace . ❤️🙏
That girl who had a baby that she left with her mom. I sincerely hope she was able to turn things around for her baby. Having a child changes you. I hope she was able to turn it around for her baby. That made me cry 😢 ❤
Alright I'm gonna just say it. Let people pee. They are pissed they can't run far with their pants round their legs. Plus when your drunk you don't mind people watching you pee.. grew up in the country many a bush was shared
I felt like they treated him harsh that man was intoxicated he jus needed time to sober up i have to admit ive been in there an was a lil mean if they came in bein loud the ones i felt sorry for was the ones that really did have mental health issues
Just because another driver is "offended" by how another driver is driving, does NOT give that driver the right to get out, open their car door, and rip his glasses off his face.
People piss me off on the road constantly. 🤣 The most I ever do is flip the bird. Not mature and I'm working on not having a stroke because some people can't drive. I would never pull over and "settle it". I'm not getting into a fight because some human error message doesn't know how to use a turn signal.
I noticed that too and looked in the comments to see if anybody else noticed...I too wonder if she is related....If Soo law enforcement runs in her family...
It just could be a coincidence with the last name but you really never hear anyone with the last name Earp. And her parents just gave her the middle name, Wyatt. If she really is a descendent of Wyatt Earp, he would be proud! 😉😁
I like SGT. Catherine Gorton. I love how understanding and empathetic she was with that woman who came in with that tampering with drugs record charge. I feel really bad for that woman and what she went through. It's not an excuse for what she did, but I hope she learned her lesson and gets better.
@@davemathews7890 Eeewwwww, you know projection is a subtle form of confession right lol? Maybe it's you who was thinking that not the Sarge. Gutter mind.
When I FINALLY dealt with my issues (by going to jail!!!)…The start of my new life was someone just like that Sgt!!! I’m so grateful for everything and everyone that helped save my life! Jail was the start of my new sober life almost SEVEN years ago ! Thank you to all the folks that helped save my life!
34:21 “I been in college for 18 years” 34:23 officer: “college for 18 years?” 34:24 “yeahh mann” 34:25 officer: “what college you go to?” 34:27 “I went to university of Florida for NiNe YEarSs..😏 I went to high school after that.”🤓 34:32 officer: “…OK” 👌🏿🆗 Lmfaoo 😂😂💀🤡🤓
My uncle worked in gang crimes unit in Chicago. He retired and just one week later he dropped dead of a massive heart attack. He was stressed and I see that face he had at times on these cops face. Take it easy and get your heart checked with a physical.
The drugs and booze just brings out their real, horribly immature personalities. Everyone is forced to grow up physically. But no one is forced to grow up mentally or emotionally. Due to that, some folks never actually grow up in the ways that matter most. Many of them are good at faking being normal adults out in public. But you can't keep up that charade every single day. Eventually their true nature comes out.
Probably because of multiple different reasons to do with what the other commenters have suggested but yes, they do look ridiculous. Still, it's entertaining (sadly) Working in these jails seems like a kind of extreme babysitting.
That first dude acting all dramatic had me belly laughing when he hits the ground acting like he passed out, BUT, lol, his hand had a little “delayed” fold of the wrist right after hitting the ground. What an idiot, LMAO!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I could not help but empathize with the bulimic girl - I feel so bad for her, and I certainly hope she gets a MAJOR break on everything and her condition improves. Also, sergeant Gorton is a godsend to the law enforcement and corrections staff. She has wonderful interpersonal skills and it's obvious the job is a perfect fit for her.
you should have done a bad girls scene in Las Vegas at the first scene of season 2 episode 4 of jail that would've been cool to see that because this Sergeant has been working with Las Vegas police officers when that lady was charged DUI and then kicked officer Mcewen when told to sit in the chair when told not to go to the bathroom
If the bulimic/anorexia girl is telling the truth I think: a) altering 🏋️ the description is a *pure* DA expression. How many of the majority of people haven't taken 1, 2, or 3 pills to relieve the pain when having a problem with pain or a headache or what do I know b) I think the DA should use her/his discretion and drop 💧 her case considering that the accused clearly expressed that "she didn't knew" and that it was a mistake. I know 😃 many criminals can seem to be really nice and genuine but this lady definitely didn't wanted to commit a crime to "gain" something monetary from taking a pill 💊 too much. 😊 😊
Used to watch this on tv until I rarely saw it any longer. Glad to find on video as it's part of going to jail we usually don't see. These officers ate to be commended on how well they handle each person that they encounter. They are so well trained and seem to like their job. I'm so impressed by them. Great show, glad to find your channel. New subscriber!!
I think it’s safe to say 99.9% of the people who watch Jail Think Very Highly of Sgt. Gorton!! I say we start a petition for her to get her own spinoff!! Sgt. Gorton you are Awesome!!!
One thing I wish every professional in every field could learn is, telling people to "calm down" very rarely, IF EVER, actually helps anyone calm down. It usually has the opposite effect.
The girl who was with her mom when they were shoplifting has such a great attitude. This girl will be successful at what ever she chooses if is given half the chance. The world have not beaten her yet like it has som many on this show. She is still winning and it’s amazing. It’s sad that she has such a pitiful example to look up to with her mom. Maybe mom will change, but I doubt it.
I feel for them. Traffic court judges have it worse imo. Drunk/high people are usually sober when they get to court. The aggression level is very subdued. I spent ten hours in the drunk tank. I wasn't the same person by morning.
No we aren’t 1 step away from going to jail, just drunks and addicts. Do what you are supposed to do and control your actions and you’ll never be near a jail. Did you not learn that as a child?
@Tony_417 you're also correct even though you clearly missed op's point and took it too literally. They were also equally correct. It's completely true that every person living in civilized countries are 1 bad decision away from jail.
I remember many vacations when my mom and i couldnt sleep and watching Jail and i think Locked Up Raw. Grew up watching Cops every Saturday so it's a huge part of my childhood
One question i have is did anything happen to the guy who attacked the other one in the road rage? Surely he should be done for assault and damage to private property? I'm in the UK and thats how it works over here. Not sure how it works over there in the US.
I suspect the drunk driver did a lot more than flash his headlights. If the other driver had a clear record and was severely provoked, the officer might have let him get his family home and simply written a report of the incident. The report would go to the district attorney (local prosecutor) who would make the final charging decision. Sorry, long-winded way of saying he could be charged later. Best regards from California!
I don't thing the DUI was giving us the complete story, I'll bet he did much worse than he's letting on and the other driver did much less. Drunks are notorious liars and manipulators.
I use to be a carer looking after people with special needs it takes a lot of patience but I loved it very sad these people need lots of loving care Also more mental care needed. Xxx❤❤
@@hzjc9680 The community?? Are you kidding me? Wake up! Small town American mentality doesn't exist in cities. Even small cities are huge compared to small towns. Community exists where everyone knows each other by name, lives in extremely close proximity to each other, and knows whose child belongs to whom. That doesn't exist in even the smallest cities out here. But even in small towns, what do you expect the community to do when a mom sets a P!$$ poor example for her daughter and does a garbage or neglectful job raising her? What exactly do you expect "the community" to do about that? Physically take the young child away from her mother? Pass the child from one family to the other in "the community" and raise the child collectively? Yeah, that's called kidnapping! Even in small towns _today_ the best that community members can do is call Child Protective Services and let CPS *legally* handle a horribly neglectful or abusive mom. Welcome to modern-day America.
So glad I found this page! Could only see clips of this type of jail show on tik tok but now I can see the real thing. It’s so interesting to see this side of police shows. The actual processing and what they deal with and how they are when the come in vs if and when they sober up! Props to all the staff!
Been there with the EDs, and it's a tough road to remission...but you'd be surprised how one single act of kindness can change your entire world. Unfortunatly there is not blanket "cure" as people develop eating disorders for multiple reasons! EDs can develop as a response to abuse, as a way of taking control, to meet societal vanity expectations, and A LOT more as the list goes on. However encouragement and kindness can help those struggling, no-matter the cause of their ED. Not only did she recieve kindness while in jail from the officers, but the kind comments on this video are even showing her some love! Like you I hope she is able to go into remission and have a happy life. Even if your comments don't reach her, I want you lot to know that other's whom have struggled with an ED, both actively or those in remission, do see these comments and your encouragement. For that I thank you! Hopefully those that really need it will also see your kind words of support 🤟
That last woman, the one in her forties with all the pain meds -- she's going to be in heavy withdrawl within a couple of hours. I hope she was medically monitored
55:59 are used to be on fentanyl with methadone, as far as prescription for a severe pain disease, but being on Percocet and OxyContin, and methadone seems far more extreme. Percocet and OxyContin have the same effect short term pain management. I’m so glad to be off all of that, this woman if she’s been on that stuff for a long time she’s going to go through withdrawal. Even if I always took it just as the prescription, but when I came off of it, after five years of being on the medicine, I had to be rushed by ambulance as my heart rate was plummeting. Mentally was fine but physically, my body was withdrawing from these drugs.
Percocet IS Oxycontin. Well, both of them are Oxycodone. Percocet = Oxycodone + Tylenol, OxyContin = Slow-Release Oxycodone. Methadone is stronger, but not more extreme as the dose given takes the difference into consideration. Like, there are people on Methadone because they were addicted to Codeine and Codeine is only 1/15th the strength of Oxy.
You have to be a certain kind of person to deal with those that come in. It can be very dangerous. I was laughing because one of the women working in the jail, her last name was Wyatt Earp. That show was many years ago and the guy was a sheriff!
Same... and recently microdosing psilocybin. I'm a happy, chill, contributing camper. Studies indicate the health benefits, both mental & physical, from cannabis & some psychedelics are far greater than previously thought.
When I was locked up on some BS I shouldn't have been involved in I had my own Sgt. Gorton inside. He was an older gentlemen who could tell I didn't belong there and really helped me through the process. People like Sgt. Gorton are invaluable.
