Hi Tia. I am 52 years old. Have been wearing sarees for 30 years and yet I love to watch your saree drapes. You have positive vibes that makes me watch all your saree drape shorts. Quick question : can you do a video on types of petticoats or underskirts? Underskirts are crucial for a saree to stay in place and gives the drape a nice finish. I only know about the traditional type and I want to try some different styles. Thank you and good luck ❤

I'm assuming she didn't add this in for the sake of the demonstration and wanting to make it short enough for YT Shorts, but in India we usually use safety pins to pin the draped part to the shoulder of the blouse, and to pin the parts going in the back to the bottom petticoat. Let me know if that makes sense

The look is lovely! What I don’t understand is how the fabric stays tucked in the back? When you sit or bend that pulls on the fabric. Do you constantly have to keep tucking in the fabric? Also, how do you keep the pallu on your shoulder? Is it pinned or do you need perfect posture?

Pins! Pinning the pleats to your underskirt keeps them in place even when you sit down. You can also pin the pallu to your blouse but in this case, the waist chain helps to hold it in place😊

I grew up wearing a Saree Bangladeshi style - the arshol goes over the left shoulder. I never new there was another ways I call it Gujarati style - the arshol comes over the right shoulder

How do you keep the back part that you tucked in from getting loose?

You can pin all the pleats together and tuck them in. Make sure the drawstring on your underskirt is as tight as is comfortably possible so they don't move or come out😊

How do you secure the tucking? I work with kids and if I wear saree or sarong, one of the kids will pull it for sure and it will come undone. 😂😂

The drawstring is pretty good at holding everything in place (as long as you tie it tightly enough), but you can also pin all of the pleats to your underskirt!
