OK, so it's not just my shiba where it's a two-people-and-a-huge-towel death match to get her to cave and just get it done in about four minutes... and it IS really nice that they all seem to get over it instantly.

???- Am I mistaken, or is the dog in the hammock the wrong way around? I think the other way around has the longer end under the dogs head for support and to help keep them from being able to reach around to you and nipping. I like these things just for the fact it gets the nails up at a comfortable working height and there's no dancing around, trying to pick up a paw and the dog wobbling around, off balance. I just gotta figure out a system for hoisting my 60lb Am. Bully! LOL!
We've got a Shiba as well who's super over dramatic when it comes to nail trimming. Even the vet couldn't do it. It has been more than a year since we tried many means and failed. He starts biting us and behaves really scared and aggressive. We are going to try this hammock way as our last resort. Our Shiba isn't food motivated as well. Please let us know of any tips and tricks to cut his nails. Did you try any calming chews before the process?
we didn't try calming chews, I had to originally introduce eevee to the nail trimmer by touching it to her paws without it being on and give her treats, and slowly try it more and more with treats until she was... tolerant of it. she still snaps sometimes and she's not a fan but she is MUCH better. The grooming hammock was very good overall if there is less time for that
Could try a head cone when in the hammock. Less chance of the dog nipping you and you might try smearing a bit of peanut butter on it they can lick at as distraction.
