Saw them live “back in the day” when they were definitely “at the height of their powers”. They were one of the many vocal groups (The Moments immediately come to mind) from that magical era for whom recordings didn’t do justice. Their live shows were pure vocal and showmanship heaven!
Lenny was a great lead and, indeed Paulpfoley he never got the credit he deserved. Ron was losing that falsetto by the time this was filmed, but the harmony was still tight. I don't live in Houston but would have loved to have seen this performance. God granted us so many talented performers. We were truly blessed.
aww this is so sad to watch. I tear up cause the best member's are died now. I like watching they old footage when they were younger some very handsome men. Especially Lenny Mayes and Ron Banks. Willie was sexy too. Aww Lenny is a sweetheart always with beautiful smile. Lay back ,smooth LJ could sing I like the younger LJ. 😉 And last but not least:The late Great WeeGee, El, Larry even though he's not dead. God Bless the member's who still alive. And may the members who went home to glory RIP💖💗
That woman needed to sit in her seat. She took away from the performance jumping up there. All that ab-living by the lead singer in the first song messed the performance up.
lenny was great voice with in the group so was LJ and Ron,larry and Willie this is the real member of the group to me even though lenny Willie and LJ weren't original member
❤❤for. God so. Loved 😍🤩 the. World 🌎🌍. He. Gave his. Only. Begotten. Son. That. Who. So. Ever. Believe. Him. Will not. Parrish. Means Die. In your. Sinns.
I hate to bust all of you LJ REYNOLDS LOVERS, but LJ ain't even no where close in singing ability to the original lead singer William wee gee Howard. NOT ONLY IS LJ REYNOLDS NOT ON THE SAME PLANET AS WEE GEE, BUT LJ AIN'T EVEN IN THE SAME UNIVERSE AS WEE GEE. I hate to hear LJ Reynolds just butcher whatcha see is whatcha get. WEE GEE WAS SO MUCH BETTER IT'S NOT EVEN A ARGUMENT. Wee Gee was a much better dancer. that's why they called him THE ELECTRIFYING WEE GEE HOWARD.
Oran Payne so why is l.j REYNOLDS SO HIGHLY Rated as a lead vocalist by the music historians and connoisseurs? I know wee gee has a greater range and power.but l.j's ability to preach& innovates is better and you can be a very good singer but if your voice don't fits the tune, it might not sound good and singer of lesser ability does it better.ive heard and seen Dramatics doing that same tune you're critzing L.J doing, let tell you could've hardly recognised the difference when L. j belted out BELTED OUT HEY YOU !GET OFF MY MOUNTAIN.
Maica Clarke Let me give you the game. Wee Gee Howard, Tony Hester, The Squirrel made the Dramatics, period. Not LJ Reynolds. Wee Gee was a much better singer and dancer than L.J. could dream of. Did you ever see Wee Gee Howard LIVE with the Dramatics? Cause I have and there is no comparison. Wee Gee was a much better lead singer than L.J. could dream of.
Maica Clarke Also have you heard L.J. Reynolds just butcher Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get. A slaughter house couldn't do a better job of butchering a song like L.J. Could. L.J. can't hit the notes, can't hold the notes and just butchers this song and In The Rain.
Maica Clarke excuse me but about how old are you? I looked at your profile and couldn't guess your age. The reason that I ask is that if you are not in your very late 50s or in your 60s, you couldn't have possibly seen Wee Gee or heard him with the dramatics. Wee Gee was out of the dramatics in 1973. See I know what I am talking about.
This is after they have been singing together since 1973 the vocals are still strong also Lenny at this time was battling lung cancer Ron had a heart condition but they all were on stage holding their own.
This group has been together since 1973 and some of them before then. Lenny at this time is battling lung cancer and Ron with a heart condition and I still think they were holding their own. This is real old school music with people who knew how to really sing and harmonize. Listen to some of their music from back in the day . One of the best groups out during that time.
Like I said the first time no disrespect to this group. I'm very familiar with The Dramatics music, but this particular song does not sound good to me and that is in my opinion. I do believe in this day and time we are still able to have our own opinion. Thank you
