I'm 69 and retired and on a fixed income so any freebies I can find are cool. Worked on Corey's dominant 7th arpeggios today until I needed a change (thanks Lightnin Hopkins). But back for a few chord ideas. Thanks guys You're both great.

Brilliant demo guys what I love about playing the guitar after 46 years is you could live for a thousand years and never stop learning there is no such thing as a complete master of guitar its impossible with so many different styles and techniques which is why no matter what level you play at never lose heart in your ability every new day is a school day for learning

One of the biggest impact learning's I picked up from Corey is, playing guitar is so much more more than memorizing and regurgitating notes. It's as much about timing and phrasing, whether one or two notes or an arpeggio and the placement of that phrase in the context of music / measure(s). Great seeing these two guitarist together, keeping it real. More...

@@coreycongilio I liked you explanation on this lesson about using chord fragments for rhythm playing. Being an older guy (68) with hand issues I've started looking for ways to cut down on the stress by not playing so many full barre chords and just playing 5ths and other 2 note fragments from chords. That has helped a lot and on electric it sounds fine. Maybe you could do a course on playing rock rhythms in that way.
@funkfan1751
@funkfan1751 5 лет назад
@@coreycongilio Yes! Simple things like the song I am working on now with a A - C - D - C quick change phrase so I have been playing at the 5th fret using 2 notes on 5 & 4 strings from barred A 7th fret to 2 notes on 4 & 3 strings on 5th fret to 2 notes on 4 & 3 string on 7th fret back to previous. Sounds good and a lot easier than trying to play the full chords. I suppose these are inversions because the root notes of the chord are on the higher pitched strings as opposed to being the lower note.
