@@imnervous5731 being able to draw isn't a talent at all. It's a skills that has to be learned from the beginning through your lifetime. Be better to pick a skills that you like because it'll helps you to relax whenever you feel furious. I like figure drawing so I'll study it.

I think it would be great to include old women too, people tend to draw a variety of male faces but always the same features for women faces and always young women :/ Btw your drawings are beautiful and you clearly improved thanks to this challenge!

Yes, she tends to make “perfect” women. She needs more variety for elder women and realistic women 30-40. Her art is very beautiful though.

I don't think that's her fault in this particular case though, I think it's Ahmed Aldoori's fault. It was him who created the pinterest board for this challenge, and he had chosen pictures where all the women were young and beautiful, whereas the men are ranging from beautiful to literal monsters. But I agree, ppl tend to always young, beautiful women.

And I don't think Ahmed Aldoori did that on purpose, he just chose faces but yeah I wish there was like old ladies but that's fine though if we want more old lady drawings we should pick up a pencil (do draw it digitally like I do) and try to draw them on our own and study it? I want to do this challenge and learn how to make more diverse faces. (Also when I see other famous RU-vidrs draw faces it does range from beautiful women to strange men faces that range from old to i don't even know what that is. I think it's because it appeals more to their eye and not as if they did it on purpose)

@@frenchfry55 Not on purpose of course! It's just I'm trying to recall an older female character from any kind of media and I can't off the top of my head do that... (Maybe not a particular character, more like I'm lacking a general picture, whereas of male characters above 50 years of age I have a descent amount of generalized types in my head.) See, I think something being visually more 'pleasing' is only part of the problem (if at all). Artists not always choose conventionally beautiful people as their models for a reason, I guess. I think between being appealing to the eye and having personality, personality will always win. ...The above passage should say something about our popular culture lol Anyway as a person who is strongly against trying to dictate to creators what's appropriate for them to create (it never works anyway)) I'm still glad more people start to see this imbalance and ask why it happens. (Or rather I'm glad I myself started to notice.)

Yes I was thinking this too throughout the video. It must be the preference of the person who created the challenge rather than the artist doing the challenge in the video. But I know what you mean, even myself, my art style is very cartoonish and bright colours and cute feminine characters and not really any older women characters when I think about it. It’s actually given me some ideas though. I think it’s kind of to do with how in media, there tends to be certain type of people predominantly on screen or online (young, conventionally beautiful/slim girls). I think we need much more diversity.

I love this idea and what you said about becoming "less precious". I'm a beginner so my drawings are shit but I tend to draw and erase a lot and I think if i just focus and practice everyday instead of worrying about making the perfect face I'll get better

i started this challenge because of you and now IM SUFFERING. its day 4 today and im already at the point where i'm questioning my decisions. yesterday i wanted to give up so bad and i felt like everything i drew looked horrible but i still kept going. And before going to bed yesterday I DONT KNOW WHY but i was looking forward to drawing the faces today. i dont know what going on but im doing it and I WILL COMPLETE IT. lmao thank you for encouraging me to do this i really hope I complete this :)

I watched this straight through which is crazy, I was looking up hot to draw watercolour faces and this came up, I used the arrow keys to skip through them all, then I sat down and watched this the whole way, that really says something about your content! Loved it! +1 sub :)

Wendy Tecum do studies (draw people) and don’t erase your pencil lines, also draw features of the face individually and then learn how to put guidelines onto your (heads?) people / / heads, idk hope this helps

This video is so beautiful! I loved it! I haven’t watched the original video, but I saw that his Pinterest board only 98 faces so it didn’t surprise that you had to do a couple faces of your own. I don’t think you missed any, he may have done this so any one who does it can pick a couple of their own maybe? I haven’t drawn in soooo long, this video was very inspiring! Thank you for sharing!

This is really interesting! Ahmed Aldoori explains in his video that he suggests starting from the bottom of the Pinterest board, and that is what most people (myself included) did. That way, you start with more dramatic lighting, lots of wrinkles and such, which helps identify where the light and dark areas are, which means that when you get to the end, with the smoother, more subtle faces, it feels easier to me. That's basically the opposite of what you said, which is fascinating! I guess the thing in common is that drawing faces is easier by the end haha

Congrats for finishing this challenge in 10 days ! It's so intense, I don't know how people can do it :o It's so fun to see this challenge through other people experience now that I had complete it, it gives a new perspective :D (it was really fun to recognize the reference ahah) And I had the same problem as you : not enough references at the end, I had to take old references that had different angles in the picture :)

I have watched this video like 4 times over the last year and I love your art so much! I'm on head 78 now (but I took 2 years to do them, bad me) and I'm finally seeing improvement too. I might continue and make it 200 heads. Watching you draw inspires me so much. Your faces are precious. Also I LOVE long videos like this so you're good. Would you ever redo this challenge? Would be cool to see your progress maybe. Just a suggestion.

i literally watched this whole thing and it inspired me so much to do this. i kinda already have a set way to draw faces and busts but idk how to draw bodies or hands and stuff so maybe i will do this same thing but study different parts of the human anatomy to better my skills. i lived this video thank you for inspiring me.
