I would love a video of you drawing something at the museum just focusing on one piece, and talking through why you're doing what you're doing. It's interesting having a statue as a model instead of a living person or a photo, and it would be really interesting to hear the pros and cons as you work through a piece!

I want to focus on one piece also! I think in a future video I will spend several hours on one

@@slewp 100% agree with @ElliotMakesArt , would love to see this! Not sure if you’d be interested, but I work as a technician at the museum (I work in the collection space). Unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to totally let you loose in the museum. However, I’m usually doing my own studies in the galleries either after closing, or before opening a few days a week If you’d ever like a little extra time for filming (sans-people).

I wish I had access to museums of that calibre anywhere close to me :) I am always amazed at how large many paintings are in real life. You just don't get the sense of size looking at books. Thanks for sharing!

Even with a floor map, I still get lost when I'm there. So much majestic beauty! So much awe inspiring, intimidating skill! I just look and look and look at the art until I have to look at the map to find out where I am and how to get back out. Come to NYC, people, just to visit the Met Museum. You can spend your entire vacation there. You'll see artwork you've only ever seen in books and magazines, right there before your very eyes.

Dude! I guess you know - That “intimidating” painting you were standing in front of was “The Oxbow” by Thomas Cole. It was painted about 5 miles from my house. Great video! Thanks!

You are a maker, can you do a strip (make holes or atach rings on the side of that board and use like bag stripes or something, so the plade is leaning against your stomach) for your painting plade, so you don't have to hold it? On amazon you get fuldeable stuls maybe that is a thing for you, too, so you can change perspectiv and don't have to stand. I really would like to see, more drawings.

We were there last November visiting from CA. My Czech wife has never been to the great NYC! Fulfilling her ice long dream! 😊It was so fun to watch you sketch pieces that I also sketched or at least photographed to sketch later! My absolute personal favorite was the little St. George and the Dragon sculpture! I’m obsessed! Really enjoyed this episode. Cheers my good man! Love seeing how you’ve evolved over the years! Well done!

Fantastic video SLEW! I would like a little more commentary during cutting it together, like what was going on with the flipping through the book that ended with you rolling up your sleeve? I did appreciate the titling of the young ladies commentary, it was quite hard to hear, well done there! I would love to see more of the MET this could even be a series and you finding a painting to work from in your studio from your museum sketches and photos/video. You might even consider trying some soft pastels for the impressionistic works! Maybe you would be more comfortable with oil pastels? I am excited by just seeing the art in this amazing series of rooms!

Great vlog it’s really fascinating to see you out and about in the museum you love so much, it would be great if you could have someone filming you so that we could see you rather than your point of view, though that is great as well 😊 great to see you have a fan at the Met. Maybe she could sneak you in at night to have the place to yourself lol 😂 this was a real pleasure to watch thank you 😊👍

Unless I directly go to your channel to see if you have any new videos, they don't get to me. So don't get discouraged by getting way fewer views, youtube really does not like art content right now it seems
