@@MartinLachmairArt Depends on the destination. Some American friends warned me to send everything well wrapped in waterproof and if possible hard packaging because some US postmen either throw the post at the doorsteps or they fold the larger envelopes to fit them into the mailboxes. So whenever I send postcards, that no one will fold them due to their size, I prefer to waterproof them. Waterproof the paper, and send it in waterproof envelope. And if I have to ship paintings these are wrapped in ....bombproof packaging! 😄 The "better safe than sorry" dogma is still very valid!
