Shading TIP! Go black on a new layer and make the opacity 50% or 60%

Shading with black makes it look very messy, so I wouldn’t shade that way.

Another shading tip! It's best not to go black when shading. [Depends on the content though] usually colors are best to bring out that nice, saturated shade in characters, objects etc. Sometimes darker colors [Ex: dark blue, dark red, etc] is best for a more intense look. Colors such as orange, purple or pink bring in a nice happy look to the piece. 35%-50% Opacity on Shade mode [unless you do not have this, then the opacity will do just fine] will help a lot.

1:43 - I have to admit , when I first saw the giraffe my first thought was, "OH, GOD, ITS NECK IS BROKEN!!!" It's a nice drawing overall, it's just that neck threw me.

I love his Capybara's lines. "It's an unidentified flying object... insect-thing! I don't like it!" It just fits the image so well! Also, when I hear it, does anybody else feel like you've heard that exact voice 'feeling' somewhere else? Like some character from an old animated movie from the 80's or 90's, like the Fievel movies or Secret of NIMH? It's dredging up old nostalgia every time I listen to it, but I can't think of it and driving me nuts (in a good way)!

Hi Brian I love the fact that you explain so clearly what you did and why you did it. We never get to see how actors choose the voices for their characters and how animators and illustrators come up with the way their characters look, so for me this video was very interesting.

It is awesome that you are also a cartoonist! I found it hard to picture the giraffe with the first voice, but the following characters were spot on! Have you ever used props to help achieve a certain sound with voicing? eg - would it add anything to the voice to clip weights to your bottom lip for a character that had droopy lips? Also, if you could replace any movie character's voice with another one...what do you think the funniest swap would be?
