Watch as I bring to life the lovely Nahlo G. with just some pencils and a blank piece of paper!
I have to be honest: I planned to film this for you guys in REAL TIME, talking through the drawing step by step. However, I was so UNHAPPY with the crappy job I was doing, I lost focus and stopped talking altogether! That's when I decided to just leave this as a time lapse video.
You'll notice in the beginning that I do a lot of erasing, especially on the nose and mouth area. I wasn't focusing like I should, because I was too busy THINKING about the camera and engaging with you guys.
So once I stopped talking, the drawing began to come forward and I ended up liking the final piece. It's not EXACTLY like the pretty reference model (sorry Nahlo), but I like how it turned up as an art piece.

You made it work, Jeff, awesome. 👍 Trying to do and describe at the same time is a big challenge. Given a choice, I'd rather see you work. It is always fascinating to watch your drawings evolve from a layout of shapes and proportions into a finished likeness. Keep it going, brother. Peace

I'd like to continue filming my real-time step by step drawing videos. It's just hard to explain the added pressure that comes with it. Instead of focusing 100% on the drawing, I have to split my attention by engaging with the audience and talking, etc. So even though I started out this drawing by doing a step-by-step video, I found myself remaining SILENT for long stretches of time, and I think that would be way too boring for people to watch.If I had more comments on these drawing videos to give more feedback, then I could probably say if that is something people want to see or not. As it stands, I am undecided on how to proceed with them.To be honest, right now, I am considering only doing time lapse videos until I feel more confident in my drawing......to where it becomes second nature. Then it won't be a big deal to do step-by-step real time videos, because the second nature part will kick in and I will be able to talk and draw at the same time.But if people really want to see the real time versions of these videos, even if it means I am silent for long stretches of time, then I hope people SPEAK UP about that, because I'll put it out there on request.

Some people are just Negative Nancy's and they have to try to bring people down in order to make themselves feel better. I don't let it bother me though. Thanks for the positive comment and hopefully you'll enjoy watching all the other drawing videos on my channel!
