Conclusion: These pencils (Camlin) have hard and brittle lead compared to Staedtler or Derwent brand of pencils and does not give a smooth texture while shading and it takes more time to get the desired shading, more over the softer leads 4B and above breaks easily while sharpening it to a long point. Good points: These are very cheap pencils (Rs 40 for 6 pencils set) and are easily available, its ideal for beginners who want to learn and improve their drawing skills.
Yes very true! These pencils are hard compared to same grade steadler pencils, and it some time produces unintentional harsh strokes which become impossible to blend in or erase. So you gotta be really careful with these pencils and I see you have done a wonderful job in doing so. As you said it is perfect for beginners to improve your drawing skills.
