You nailed it Matt I always thought the same thing ..because I love Nitram charcoal but they should make the baton available seperately without the additional charcoal sticks for maybe 15 -20 bucks, or a set of 3 batons for like $45 bucks or something

Its very difcult to load its not slyding at all, maybe its just me but i maneged to breake them trying to load it.

there is a tension ring where the charcoal comes out of the stylus. If you have it tightened all the way the charcoal will break. That sounds like that may be the problem. hope it starts working better for you!

I’m sure. The metal part will, but the rest is plastic and there is just something about dropping $40 on a tube of plastic.

@@MatthewCookArt and if it gets damaged, I pay a craftsman to replace it with wood. is there another alternative brand that produces the same tool? sorry for my English!😅

Mine is made of such soft plastic thst it has deformed and can no longer be loaded with charcoal. Do not recommend this.

I just bought mine from Dick Blick and they were in the clearance section I got it for $12.95!! They still had two more on the shelf. I was really surprised by how much I saved and the stylus and the charcoal were still in good condition. I'm tempted to go back and by the other two left but I'm not too sure.
