Its unreal how much more clear this was than my text book just from the smiley faces, seriously thanks so much for making this. Also I recommend watching at 1.25x speed.
watched about 10 newman videos...this one put all the pieces together! now I know WHY we use 2 different newman projections for the front carbon (one with the plane going up and one going down) !!THANK YOU JEREMY
these projections finally make sense!!!! thank you!!! tip for anyone watching, the wedge is coming towards YOU not towards the smiley face, that helped me so much in being able to place everything on the projection
No words!! Simply amazing..I was reading book chapters, watching many you tube vedios, i accidentally found this one and this is just killing this topic.huge thanks!!!
hey thank you i think i finally understand these projections :) i also think your slow way of talking is fine. it's better to be more detailed than not. thank you~
Is there a base set of rules on where you're supposed to look when it comes to structures? Like if it's based off the closet substituent or solid wedge?
I almost understand how to draw newman projections. This video is more helpful than the books i tried. But I have one question about the second drawing.I think wedge(-OH) has to be located on the right side of newman projection..How do you know about wedge & dashe's side on newman projection?
Thank you so much! I didn't understand a similar example in the textbook and I looked for so many videos and they don't provide an explanation with this type of diagram like you did here! I finally understand it thanks to your simple explanation!
i wish when i took this my professor "dumbed it down" for us and explained it this way. Not that anyone is dumb but some people have trouble picturing these types of things without these helpful tips!
Why is the OH in the second example put on the left? I thought since it was closest to the smiley, it would be put on the right? Can someone please explain why?
I wish that I had watched this last week BEFORE my test!! I would've done a whole lot better. However, from this point and moving forward I so get Newman Projections now!! AMAZING! Thank you for taking your time to really explain this!
what if the there a dashed group and a straight line on the same plane...so like dashed Br and straight line H both pointing down and a wedge OH pointing up? would i have to rotate the structure so that the H points up so that it's in plane of the structure
