Seem there must be a lot of planning that goes into these great drawings so you don't get the background too dark at the start. Do you use reference images?

Я точно так рисовал курировал Шишкина ,а в художке мне говорили работать надо штрихом чтоб бумага не затиралась ведь рисуем не случайным объёмом ,а светотенью начиная с теней к свету .🐲.
