his clear understanding of light and shadow, matched with his ability to break the rules and still accomplish a realistic and beautiful piece, really just tickles my fancy. love this guy-so underrated.
I love watching artist draw. to me it's usually better than any tutorial because the artist is speaking threw the drawing. That hole picture worth a thousand words? yeah. That's pretty much it.

Never been a big fan of how DC characters are drawn, but how can people draw like this on a daily basis, when my drawings would take months for it to look as good as these ones!
This was Dave's redesign of Green Lantern for the series of one-shot books Stan Lee did with DC Comics' Superheroes. It gave artists a chance to break away from continuity and tackle these characters from a perspective never attempted. Like GL here is now an elemental guardian of the Earth.
