In this segment, Steve Huston discusses the complexities of drawing the human nose, emphasizing its connection to the head and the challenges posed by perspective. He explains how the nose's orientation differs from the head's vertical stance, creating unique visual effects when viewed from various angles. Steve highlights the importance of shadows and strategic shading to achieve a realistic depiction that seems to project from the canvas. He also explores the nuances of facial angles, using the under-shadow of the nose to enhance its three-dimensional appearance on a two-dimensional surface.

I don’t know if you are reading comments, but i want say great thanks for making these on RU-vid, you are great help to artists who don’t have access to a master mentor in person , there are many tutorials and courses on information, but their more knowledge to be had with everything when you learning full time under someone , these videos feels much closer to what i imagine master -student relation

These are absolutely fantastic lessons. My Noses have never been better, lol! I can't keep up! So much knowledge, and it got me to draw and buy a nice Fechin book. 😉

Great tutorial! May I ask, where did you get the cast of River Girl? Sorry if this has been asked before, this is my first time watching any of your videos. Again, great tutorial...especially the tip about lining up the bottom of the nose with the eye line.
