Mr Gareth David, you deserve an award for empowering young people around the world who want to be designers. I am from Nigeria and you have no idea how difficult it is to acquire this kind of skills here. With poor and expensive internet connections, learning skills online is quite difficult. But with a lot of patience and determination I was able to download all episodes of your tutorial (Hope you don't mind) and the accompanying project files. With the skills I learnt I have been able to earn a little extra cash to sponsor my self through college. My dad lost his job and in this economy and at his age it's very difficult to get a job. So thanks Mr Gareth and may God continue to bless you! Keep up the goodwork.
You are the best teacher online who could teach any dumb person to master illustrator. Thank God, i found your tutorial online . Thank You for your best teaching videos.
Hey Mr. Gareth, am so happy beyond expression. Wherever you are just know that you have touched a life miles away. You are the best teacher and May God bless you.
I actually can't thank you enough for these tutorials. I have been offered some graphic design work by a friend who is involved in a multi million dollar web project... Having an illustration degree but no experience, I accepted the job, but had only ever used traditional methods of producing work so was frankly going blindly into the graphic design world. Long story short you've helped save my career with these tutorials!! Many thanks! :)
Dear Gareth David, You are blessing lives in the world. You have made some one like me self reliant. I pray that you achieve all Heavenly Father wants you to achieve here on earth. You are the best teacher I have interacted with. Thank you so much for this tutorials. I will help others with all I have learnt here.
From zero knowledge, I've gotten comfortable using AI after watching your videos in 3 days. Thank you very much for the valuable and precise guide videos! Very much appreciated!
This really is an amazing series, thanks so much! The Adobe tutorials are confusing and unimpenetrable for me but you make every seem straightforward and easy and learning feels organic!
When align black circle with white if you dont want to move the black:select black and white then click another time in the black for hold in position then click align horizontal and vertical for move only white in center position. Thanks for your tutorials!!
Such an amazing quality of tutorials out there for free. Wow. I have seen pathetic e-courses on websites asking hundreds of dollars to enroll. May God Bless you sir and may He give some sense to 38 people who have unliked the video
For anyone who can't see their handles and anchor points for the Direct Selection Tool, press Ctrl+H (Windows) and cmd+H(Mac). i had this problem and thought that i'd share to you guys.
I like how he takes special care to mention the little detail regarding stroke profile direction at 31:47, despite the fact that most people might not face that issue. These are extremely well-prepared and well-thought videos!
Just *WOW!* Thanks to your very informative _(and very well compact)_ videos, I now understand a lot more about these advanced graphic design tools which have otherwise remained esoteric to me for so many years.
These tutorials made me fall in love with illustrator, something I never thought possible mainly because of the pen tool, now I feel like a master. THANK YOU.
These videos are amazing! I was struggling with Illustrator and thanks to your videos I was able to start using it with confidence! People like you make me feel so grateful for living in an era where good content like this is so easily accessible to anyone who wants to learn!
You know I got up to lesson 9 not really knowing where I was going with this and thinking I was spending a lot of time not getting very far. Then lesson 10 happened I I feel like it all came together in that lesson. Great stuff really appreciated.
I'm in a Graphic Design course, just started, never used Illustrator, a lot of the class have done a pre course in the college, everyone is streets ahead, I'm already behind, the teacher is so fast, I have missed steps, and he's gone too far to ask then, so I'm sitting there lost, this is so helpful, disheartened looking around the class and everyone is well ahead of me and I don't know how to get there because I have missed simple things like this! The shortcuts especially! Thank you so so much!!
I'm using adobe Illustrator for a while but I was looking for a good tutorial that will help me knowing the program perfectly. Well, I found! Thank you for all these videos. This is the first episode that I see and I'm very impressed, it was very fun lesson and I also learnd some new stuff. Got to go, I have another episode to see !
can't thank you enough for these tutorials _ i always find illustrator hard and i always panic and feel i will never be able to learn it but you made it smooth and easy for me to go even further in this software, i shared it with all of fam and friends whos looking to learn illustrator from scratch, thank you soo much, David, you are the best.
Just stopping by to thank you and echo the previous positive comments regarding this series. It's fantastic, to the point and really easy to follow (or at least as easy as it can be). Well played on making this resource free and offering the donation option. Consider it used. Thanks again, from Derry, Ireland.
You're the source of inspiration to me. I had no passion in this software but with your tutorials, I'm almost an expert in it. Thank you so much for dedicating your busy time to produce such outstanding work. May the Lord/Halla bless you so much and how I wish I could meet you one-on-one. #fromkenya
Thanks for the tutorial. It helps me discover the uses of some tools I've never tried before and also to refresh on the basics in case I missed out some stuff. I wish to add another method in which you can remove part of a handle. You can activate the "Convert anchor point tool" (Shift+C on Win) then click the end point of a handle that you wish to remove. This method will prevent you from messing up the other handle as you try to move the current handle to the anchor point to remove it.
WOOW YOU SIR ARE AMAZING! Thanks a lot for your efforts in doing this!!! Autonomous learners like me REALLY appreciate your work!! Best videos I've ever seen... Seriously.
I am so glad I found this. Thank you so much for this! I'm entering college next year and I want to have some foundations to make things easier. Again, Thank you!
hi tastytuts. first off, thank you for creating such a wonderful tutorial. i really enjoy ur outstanding tutorials. however, i think windows 8 users will have this error "this file cannot be found" when opening this specific file because this specific file is saved under the project folder name "10 - DRAWING PEN, BRUSH, PENICL, SMOOTH TOOL". thats because the folder name itself contains comas and symbols. thus windows and adobe system cant recognize that causes adobe to give such error message "this file cannot be found".. Solution: Rename that folder into "PEN"
Thank you very much for this entire course! One thing to note(I'm in 2020) the Default option for the pencil tool is too smooth. Doubleclick the pencil and change the fidelity slider to the left
Sir I get this episode's file with version cc as a *Compressed folder error*....FOR ALL OTHER IT CAME WELL AND I HAVE BEEN PROGRESSING WELL...Just for this sir..what can I do...kindly help me sir
for more difficulty, use pen tool to do all the shapes. thats when you get proper mastery as the vector paths REALLY help out, especially when you can revisit paths, and create stroke layers and fill layers, saves loads of time
