I think you’re misunderstanding what Draymond is trying to say. I think he’s more trying to say that he’s tired of all the hate he gets when he lets his anger get the best of him or when he’s defending a teammate (I’m not saying the gobert choke was right, just that that’s probably what it saw it as) and he wants to retire before he’s remembered more for his anger issues than his career like someone like Ron Artest
The problem is the suspensions are not consistent. Everyone's getting suspended for random lengths of time for what they've done. Also, outside of anger management what else is needed?
@@almac9203 guy's earned millions over the course of a HOF career. Sure he injured in the latter years but he was paid max dollars to rehab. He's not had his career, achievements or long term health snatched away from him. He's got older and declined. It happens.
@@RD-zx6py he didn't decline because of age. He declined because he was fouled mid air and fell awkwardly and injured his ACL and that injury would later lead to a career altering Achilles injury. Klay was never the same after his injuries. Achilles injuries are a death sentence to professional athletes. Only two players have even had a moderate recovery from Achilles and that's KD and Wilkins. He had a great career but the injuries ruined the later part of his career.
F Draymond. Guy's a complete tool. Hopefully someone pulls his punk card soon and puts him in his place because the Warriors and League office sure as hell ain't.
Damn. You beat me to it. This video cemented my new opinion of him as a borderline sociopathic dickweed bully. Should have gotten the book thrown at him. He's a cancer.
Adam is a joke. That's crazy man. No it's totally the wrong call. Green gotten away with so much BS. I'm shocked that he's even allowed to play in the NBA at this point.
Silver should've called his bluff. If bro wanted to retire he would've. He just wanted to threaten that he would but knowing him he would've just to prove a point even though he didn't want to.
I would have said to him 'don't threaten us with a good time, your team needs you - the league doesn't. If you want to turn you back on them and the rest of that 100m you signed up for because you can't control yourself going forward then adios, best of luck with the podcasting.'
@@o.c.g.m9426 and yet he's trying to turn NBA courts into the octagon. Guy cherrypicks unwitting opponents worse than Jake Paul when he should be focussing on playing ball.
There's no way Draymond has properly addressed his emotional and behavioral short coming this quickly. The suspension was simply about public appeasement. Draymond will be the same overly emotional problem he's always been.
If you actually listen to his podcast instead of reading articles that don’t really tell his story then you missed his message. He does recognize that he can’t change in the month that he was gone but he’s making progress
@@derekm4819thank you cause how can a person do these stuff and say sorry each time and then get away with it like if it was a guy like evan founeir he would’ve been kicked out the league hell the only reason why dillan brooks is still in the league is because he brought controversy which brought attention like ja morant problems and controversy but he was bringing highlights and money so they became soft but oj mayo doing drugs him permanently kicked out the league
That clip of Darymond talking about Steph feels like a bit from someone at Narcotics Anonymous that's absolutely still using and is just talking just to talk.
Adam silver has no guts. Stern wouldn’t have put up with this bs. Silver cares more about being buddy buddy with the players. Worst nba commissioner in history
The crazy thing is Draymond looks like a super chill dude off the court. It’s just that when he’s on the court he’s a dirty player. A straight up menace to society. I’m in no way a fan of Draymond but I just don’t understand how he is the way he is on the court and such a seemingly chill dude off of it. Normally the dirty players are the assholes off the court too but that’s what’s different about Draymond.
Hell no he's not chill. He a big mouth ego maniac, blessed by the gods of right place right time. Otherwise this dude would be on the bench. The only reason the Warriors need him is because they don't have an actual legit starter to take his place. His 2 defensive stops a game, aren't worth his hindering offense. Granted, he was doing a good job getting some buckets this year with limited sample size.
I laughed at this man played victim 🤣my kids and my family tf u think Rudy saying 😒 or kd when u called him a b in front of his mother or punch pool than apologize to his father than sad he don't want no smoke 🤣
Adam Silver isn’t about the players. If he was he would have given a bigger suspension and tried to rehabilitate instead of just letting him off with yet another slap on the wrist.
He won't be the disciplinarian that Stern was and handle things the right way. Idk how you can say he's not on the side of players because he gave a light suspension. And Draymond is a 33 yr old man. It's not Silver's job to rehabilitate him.
@@roboninja3194 I’m not asking for Stern 2.0. My point is that if you wanted the players to actually learn and be better from it then don’t just allow them to do whatever they want. I get what you are saying, I’m just saying in the long run it’s not good for someone like Draymond to just get very minor punishment.
Drayman’s is a smart guy but has the emotional control of a 5 year old. He also genuinely thinks him being a menace is a key part of his game so he’s not gonna change
Is he smart? Let me say it in other way: What thinking person will fall for his BS excuses? He is a manipulator and an egocentric. What surprises me is how much BS he can get away with. His crowning achievement will be when he gets in the hall of fame.
Kerr is loyal to a fault. The reason why he was selected over Mark Jackson is because he was agreeable to being in lock step with the ownership, professionally and personally. He's loyal to his core, because without them, he'd be former-player/former-GM Kerr, broadcating games on whatever network. We know he can't coach. It's apparent when he doesn't have players with the talent to cover it up. Or misuses players like he did in FIBA. He tries to be Popovich and Phil Jackson with his philosophy, and like those two, he alienates some players and coddles his favorites.
Nah he can coach. It’s coaches that has done way less with a lot more. None of the “big” was no 1 draft picks, if fact dreymond was a 2nd round pick. That’s a lot of winning for a core anywhere else would’ve been broken up somewhere else. Especially over this amount of time. No team in the modern era has done that. A lot of that has to do with Kerr.
Draymond Green had to work extremely hard to get back into strong enough shape to be able to play at the level needed to help the Warriors win their most recent championship. He put in the work, and got there, and they won a championship that few expected them to take. But lets not forget who the surprise stars were in those playoffs... Wiggins, Looney and Poole. Wiggins has dealt with personal tragedies as hasn't been close to the same player he was in that championship season, but they are forced to play him because of their contract situation and their inability to make personnel changes. Looney hasn't been the same either, and Poole was knocked into another team. Draymond Green statistically is having an excellent and efficient year, but he is suffering from frustration like a child star trying to recapture his former glory. The Warriors aren't bad, they're just average. And it seems to weigh on the psyche of all of them, to be average or mediocre after all of the success that they've had. They are playing all of their home games in the same place, in front of the same fans with most of the same teammates as their past peaks, knowing that they will never regain the high and the stature of their former glory days and it seems to be a colossal mindscrew, for all of them. Especially Draymond Green. I think that the "indefinite" suspension was designed to allow Draymond to really assess himself mentally, and address what he is going through. I hope that he realizes that the chapter that he and his team are going through doesn't have to be a tragic one. They can still play at a high level if they can cleanse themselves of this emotional weight, and finish off their dynasty passing the torch to their talented younger players and playing out their careers with class and skill.
Exactly bro ppl can’t accept that Draymond is a dirty player not because he likes it, because it gives him an edge stop labeling him as some angry guy with uncontrollable emotions
Awwww.... Let's have a pity party for Green let him retire. He may be one of the best defenders but I'm sure if we try real hard will be able to find one to fill his spot. Retirement for him would make the NBA safe!
He wouldn't dare throw at Wiggins. Wiggins is that passive dude that when he gets mad will strangle you and actually show emotion of pleasure for once.
How many times do I need to hear about how this guy quit because he didn't want to break up the core of the warriors... Like bro how is it in every video related to the warriors...
@@ItIsYouAreNotYour They have Dray, KT and WIggs to deal to a team that smells it now. How can those guys not be packaged in a way that can return a serious, young, two-way big? There's still enough talent on this team to make a run for the playoffs while still rebuilding for the NoMoCurry years ahead. But they don't need another 1, 2, 3 or 4: The missing piece is a big to play between any combination of JK; Trace, Saric, Podz and Mooney. Deadly two-way front line for all 48 mins that can absolutely wear out any other team, so you can throw Looney into the trade package, too. Clean house of the elders - except for Curry, of course - and the future is now. How can Kerr not see what is right in front of his eyes?
A 19 year old hanging out with a 17 year old in a state where it's ok to impregnate a 16 year old (everybody involved willing and consenting). And then he's still doing his job. He's from a country where 16 is the age of consent. I'm having a problem with the logic around here.
“Articulate his thoughts in the most intelligent way possible” Man, we have VERY different ideas of well articulated thoughts, let alone intelligent. Typical Mike, this guy sounds like he would be impressed by glue drying.
I'm sure you've watched prior era basketball - Malice at the Palace, Detroit's Bad Boys, etc. Those were way more violent than what DG did to Nurkic and Gobert. You can't say that you can't imagine what drives an individual to do that kind of behavior on the court (13:07) if you've watched old clips, which I am sure you did.
You know they feel we should be punished far more harshly than whatever punishment we receive, and if they were to have banned him for life, then some would want to ban him from the Basketball Hall of Fame, that's just how people ARE💩. 😮😢😢😠😡🤬
I just love how every time you mention the draymond and pool situation you always say he "punched the living crap out of him" or " he punched the living talent out of him" lmao idk why but it always cracks me up 😂 much love Mike keep doing what you do.
I love how people WON'T LET certain teams go 😂. People are rooting for warriors & lakers so hard they forget that NBA has younger & great talent on the horizon & playing now. All good things come to an end
On the "Horizon" none of them scream super star or face of a league. Perhaps Anthony Edwards. You got the remaining super stars left. This league looks less and less competitive than ever in terms of raw star power. Where is the next Kobe or Lebron or Curry? Not even the media could twist a player into what those players have accomplished.
Mike have you ever met a bully that was not really a huge physical person. Draymond uses escalation to full fill the enforcer role. Sometimes the escalation gets out of control.
i think its fine that draymond gets back. but if i was the NBA if anything similar happens then he should get suspended for the rest of the year the next season and that includes the playoffs..
I like Draymond’s claim the commissioner talked him out of retiring again BS Draymond is the commissioner is number one headache right now love to get rid of it
This is what we have come to expect. The indefinite suspension was sus straight away. I knew he wouldn't be out much. Just goes to show you the NBA cares about $$ more than the safety of the players. If this were, say, Terry Rozier, I believe he would've been suspended for the year, but then again the Hornets play in a small market and Rozier hasn't won multiple rings.
Draymond didn't play the victim Mike....you really be reading things wrong. He was just being accountable. Maybe he should've done it In the Nurkec interview or when on mic after Gobert. But I imagine he felt even more responsible considering they went after Stephen Curry instead of staying on his head. That would make almost anyone feel a bit more responsible.
I think you made a clear judgment of Draymond's conversation with Adam Silver based on few snippets. Clearly Draymond doesn't want to divulge further information that could possibly hurt his career, his family, and the NBA.
You know what is “too much”? Acting like a f*cking baby and getting away with it. 12 games isn’t enough time to rehabilitate anger issues. This man will do it again, guarantee it, maybe even before the end of the season.
Draymond needa hang it up, bro is just a dangerous player on the court, not even hooping anymore atp. Klay is washed and steve kerr only got lucky he got carried by 2 goats for his rings.
Draymond should be banned from hoops. Too much, too often with too extreme a bad example for the youth of the world. If Green can’t apologize for it all, he should never be reinstated. It’s not like he’s some real life thug. He’s a gang imposter. He relies upon the fact that the balance of players are decent folks who won’t retaliate to his sucker punches & unethical activity. Draymond is a punk tough guy imposter.
Bob straight went to a new sport entirely lol. Draymond going 100 mil crazy, klay lost his game to the monstars, curry running outta fuel, minga frustrated, cp3 right on schedule with injury, yup bob left them to crumble. that ls not gangsta
"Green completed step that demonstrated his commitment to conforming his conduct".... LMFAO bruh Dreymond aint never changing. Anyone who would sucker punch a "friend" and "teammate" can NEVER be trusted. Dreymond, you a certified clown boi
I feel like some people are viewing this whole thing incorrectly. When he says the commissioner is helping him instead of punishing him it's not to say the league is excusing his actions. It's implying that they see his violent acts as him becoming unbalanced mentally. He's not some immoral menace trying to hurt people, he's a guy dealing with psychological issues from having a very successful career wind down and not being able to meet the high standards set for him by himself or others. I'm not sure if the therapy will help since the person needs to buy in for stuff like that to take but i can understand the league trying to help him instead of just throwing the book at him. It's similar to klay just with totally different personality types. Klay was self destructing his game by being too hard on himself for declining while dray is lashing out like a man child.
GSW were gifted by crooked calls to get the ships, PERIOD! Not so much now, true, but that is why they are losing. Punching, stomping, choking, cussing out refs, Green is a goon punk entitled crybaby. Yet gets tapped on the wrist! He should have been banned from playing years ago. We all saw how good Kerr REALLY is as a coach at the FIBA world championships. Without refs in his pocket, he's lame. You see, Kerr and the team owner are super-woke so they get special treatment-- -even allowed to taunt opponents every time they make a shot with ridiculous posing as if they just won the lottery.
yall just mad Green is the KING of finesse 😂 he just mad about not getting a MAX so he playin into his villain arc now like it or not n he winning lowkey
As I understand it, his "this is too much for me" is not about him not being able to stop hitting people but rather the huge media backlash and speculations about Steph's leadership and all that kind of stuff. I think all this scrutiny was getting too much for him. Granted, this is definitely a self induced situation but I would understand how someone would just want to pull the plug with all that jazz.
