I am thrilled to see your presentation. As a boy of 15 in 1971, when the army couriers came in bikes to officers with some reports, I happened to hold one SLR from an army jawan,who rode with those SLRs. It was so heavy to handle. He was careful to take out the magazines before handing it to us and used to appreciate our gestures. But the Gurkha riders were very serious. When we used to request for just allowing us to handle, he spoke sternly " nahi, chhab ka order hai". Then after a few weeks war broke out, but we never had to jump into the trenches cut in front of our buildings in Turf View, Calcutta. Reminiscing those stories after 53 years feel good.long live indian army
Sir my father was 5 or 6 years old. He told me that entire Calcutta used to be put under intense black out. A casualty collection camp was created in Ballygunge. Also IAF was doing aggressive patrolling. Are all these events true? And do you happen to recall any of these events?

It was nice of you to talk about your experiences, I was working in dss port blair and it's controlled by indian navy. I was recruited as seaman by commander(director) then got promotion later.

This was long overdue major. Since reverted to INSAS our armed forces were using inferior weapons than enemy It was to demorlise our army as range of weapon of extremist was longer than our army and this might be reason for higher casualty. Political parties, and decision makers in army and drdo all were responsible for this. Free supply of INSAS to Nepal and Srilanka was rejected by them. Such was standard. God save our country.

Good to hear that DRDO has made indigenous rifle which was much needed for our armed forces.Development of indigenous arms and ammunitions could have been developed way before bcoz we always had intent,capabilities, credibility, honesty but then leadership wasn't sure and eager in developing arms and ammunitions in india...🤔👁️

Reminds me OFB 7.62×51 AR. Indeed UGRAM might be a top notch Battle Rifle but, it'll boil down to how it'll perform with OFB LMG 7.62 Hotloading surplus ammo. Have heard it is causing some issues with Sig716. So no high hopes untill, GSQR Trial
As an Indian I wish my country makes 5th Gen Fighter jet and Combat drone since our adversaries like Turkiye & so pak , China are already implementing def projects on fast track....

Glad we are working on these weapons platforms, if a considerate amount of efforts and initiative is taken we 🇮🇳 can be a big contributiors in small arms globally , there shall come a time when entire armies would be marching with a rifles proudly made in INDIA 🇮🇳

7.62, 5.56mm & 9mm are NATO cartridges used by peace keeping forces all over the world including Bharat these ammo are international standards and weapons come in different models and features. Nice to see Bharat is producing world class small arms. 👏

From a concealed position 303 and SLR in the hands of a skilled shooter can cause havoc. Really powerful and accurate rifles. The damage is irreversible.
Well done major sahib . Trials will be done for ugram.Sir I have fired old rifle 303 rounds which are very powerfull. But I think now we should rely on only one rifle AK 203 is also advanced. it must also be given to fighting units.
ak203 is not advanced as compared to other countries rifle plus our ak203 lacks what russian AK203 has due to COST CUTTING UGRAM is a battle rifle whose opposition is SIG716i not ak203... i don't think that army will buy ugram in large number if they but it at all cuz there is not much need of 7.62x51mm but for future DRDO can make this rifle much better after army verdict
