Imagine if YOU were called upon to save a child’s life?
You know that awful feeling when you hear that a child has been harmed? Now you can do something proactive so that you can feel a bit better, knowing that you are making a positive difference.
Have you ever wished there was some way that you could educate children, easily, about evil? Have you ever longed for a way to explain something horrible to a child without them becoming too upset or afraid? Well, Lunchbox Theatre’s new show, Dream can help you with the sticky subject of kidnapping, child abduction and trafficking.
Steve Kretzmann from Critter says “Dream is a play dedicated to all the missing children in South Africa. It promises to make you cry, to make you laugh, and to make you do both at the same time. It’s about a girl who goes missing, and how this affects her family and her community, and how it shifts attitudes and relationships as people respond in different ways to the trauma.”
Written by Amanda Valela, directed by the innovative theatre maker, Nhlanhla Den Mkhwanazi (of Man and Dog and Cry the Beloved Country fame) and featuring the accomplished Mncedisi Ncedani and talented Stuart Palmer, “Dream” is a multi-layered theatrical experience. This show was made possible through the assistance of National Lotteries Commission and Assitej SA! ‘Dream’ premiered at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown in 2018 and received rave reviews.
We will not rest until as many communities, families and children as possible have seen this show. Please help us to spread this important message. Save our Children and let them live out their dreams.
