The question I'm asked most as a real estate agent in McDonough GA is...When is the right time to sell my home? Updated 5/1/2020
You'd expect me to say now is the right time. Here are the three factors to look at before considering selling, no matter what time of year.
1. Low interest rates. People buy homes no matter where the interest rates land. However when interest rates are low, more people see themselves investing in their dream home. And rates remain low for now. So there isn't going to be a better time for buyers to tap into this savings.
2. Consumer confidence is high. The economists measure our buying behaviors in many ways. When consumer confidence is high, we're buying and the economy is stable. Consumer confidence remains at an all time high.
3. Employment. The unemployment rate went from being at an all time low before the Covid pandemic. Meaning employment was at a historical high rate. Although about 16% of Georgia workers are temporarily unemployed, there is confidence the employment rates will return to normal soon. This means people who have been reluctant to commit to long term investments like a home will be jumping into the market.
And of course the seasonal reason, Spring is typically the hottest home buying season. Our biggest concern in the real estate industry is that there are not enough homes on the market for people who want to buy, especially coming out of the Covid restrictions.
Our homes are often our most precious and personal investments. Now is the perfect time to get out of a house that no longer fits and get into the home of your dreams. Whether you’re looking to sell or buy, I’d be happy to share a few tips on securing the greatest value for your home.

Why McDonough?
People always seem a little shocked when they learn my husband and I moved to McDonough, GA from Las Vegas, NV. Although we lived there for several years and loved it, we missed the trees and seasons we’d grown up with in Kansas City and Southern, IL. We also wanted to see our grandkids more often.
While traveling here every year to visit my daughter and her growing family, I fell in love with McDonough. We even found a home in the Ola School District so we're close enough to go to their school activities.
When we decided to make our home here, I started a Facebook Group called My McDonough Life so I would get to know people willing to share recommendations about local activities, businesses and shopping.
